Today we’d like to introduce you to Lynda Wilson
Hi Lynda , it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
My story begins about 15 years ago, I have always been called to the social service field and I have a heart to serve. I have always had a special place in my heart for the community and helping individuals within that community. I have worked in various areas within the counseling field. I started my journey in substance abuse treatment and matriculated to the role of clinical director of a community health agency at one time, then I transitioned into a hospital setting on the mental health unit and I now I operate as a full-time private practice licensed supervising therapist. I am currently licensed in the states of Alabama, Georgia and telehealth in Florida. We also love to partner with other agencies as well to provide education to the community on mental and physical wellness. Our long term goal is to continue to expand and grow into different counties as well as different states that we are licensed in.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The road has not always been smooth in reaching and obtaining my goals. There has been some peaks and valleys along this journey. Just as I instruct my clients, I have had to persevere and push through the storms of life. There has been many challenges but I have been able to hold on to my faith and keep moving forward. My wise mentor once told me” Life has more than one day in it” as a result of holding on to this, I realize we have to take each situation one day at a time and act accordingly. Some of the struggles I have faced is staying out of my own way and growing in certain areas and challenging myself to go higher and not to settle or get comfortable in any area.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a licensed therapist in the state of Alabama and is licensed in Georgia. I uses various client-tailored approaches in therapy, including person-centered, cognitive-behavioral, and rapid resolution theory. I also specialize in the clinical areas of depression, anxiety, difficult adjustment to life stress, substance use addiction, trauma, personality disorders as well as couples counseling. I feel that I excel in developing innovative and comprehensive plans for each client’s treatment through strengths-based care.
To sum up, I challenge my clients to work toward true healing and self-sufficiency.
Can you share something surprising about yourself?
I love flowers, plants, and gardening, I have a green thumb and I grow huge plants!
