Today we’d like to introduce you to Lucky Anderson

Hi Lucky, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?

I started baking as a child and got into decorating cupcakes and cakes for my friends in high school. I attended Sullivan University where I earned an Associate Degree in Baking and Pastry arts. I worked as a pastry chef in a couple of places including Gainbridge Field house . I eventually started my own cake business that gave me the freedom to create my own schedule to do what I enjoy .

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?

It has NOT always been a smooth road, and it still isn’t! lol In my industry you’ll deal with a few undesirables who will test your business structure so I had to become more business oriented while keeping my hospitable professionalism intact.
Also since social media is a huge part of my business I’ve had to learn how to keep up with trends and remain authentic. Consistency is also a struggle for me since I’m now balancing my business life, home life and being a mother to both a teenager and a newborn,

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?

I’m an edible artist and owner of Zoë’s World of Cakes! Named after my daughter I created Zoë’s World and grew it to be Indianapolis most versatile cake company specifically designed for those who desire “The Finer Cakes in Life”.
Zoë’s World specializes in freestyled tiered, 2D and 3D sculpted cakes. Focusing on providing clients with a unique creation, my cake designs are tailored to clients specifications resulting in custom edible art every time.

In 2021 my daughter and I made our TV debut on Food Network’s Road to Halloween Wars and I went on to compete on Halloween Wars Season 11. Thirsty for more competition I flew to Austin, Texas to compete in the That Takes The Cake competition and went home with a 3rd place medal. Although it wasn’t 1st place, I have since then been nationally recognized by top television/streaming platforms and will be competing on the Food Network’s Holiday Wars this November 2024!

Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?

Seeing other people smile or enjoy something makes me happy! Especially my children!
Food makes me very happy also lol.
I love to eat fresh and flavorful foods and I love to cook delicious meals/sweets for family and friends!
Painting and creating also makes me happy. I really enjoy being in my creative element.
