Today we’d like to introduce you to Lauren B Martin

Hi Lauren B, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.

I am an actor,, voice, artist, writer and director and occasionally a singer . I have been extremely blessed to have some success in all of those fields. My time in recording studio’s,modeling or the many years on daytime television.Each project and chapter of my life has only contributed to my creative dna. I will continue to create as long as I can make the space,It is
innately who I am,and brings me the most joy.. My time in between ,fitness and health is a big part of my day-to-day, I love a fitness challenge, and I think it’s so important for my state of well-being. In another life, I may have been an interior designer, or a florist, Maximalism and Hollywood Regency all day!

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?

The actors and writers strike, as much as It was a struggle, it was necessary. Many projects got lost in that timeframe. Things are slowly turning around and I hope that we all get a bit of shine in this new season. Amazons series, Mr. and Mrs. Smith, was one of the fun projects that I worked on. pre stirike ..Very happy to finally see that airing. Check me out in the season premiere. In between I narrated, and associate produced a project “Concrete Rose “ A documentary featuring Christina Green. Her story about breaking the cycle of recidivism. through her personal journey as a former sex worker and addict . Speaking about her incarceration and the life changing work she does with the Osbourne association . We have been making the festival circuit and among some accolades, we are thrilled to have taken the silver award at the Telly awards . I always feel humbled and incredibly grateful when I can lend my voice to an inspirational cause, in an actual production, or simply cohosting a gala. Put a gal in an evening gown, and give me a microphone! Next up, shooting a pilot for a new web series called “Year 30”. The incredible Emmy, award-winning cast of Anacostia and genius writing of Anthony Anderson I believe has some things percolating..Stay tuned . I humbly served as one of the cohost, of the live special Shot in Washington DC “Welcome Home “ Honoring the 50th anniversary of Vietnam. An honor I will never forget. They have taken the show across the country in screenings for veterans and their families to watch over 40,000 veterans have seen it so far.. The production team was just nominated for a capital city Emmy award. All of these projects have had challenges, and disappointments. It’s not easy sometimes the project sits for years there are numerous immensely, talented people that never get an opportunity, the courage to stay the course and believe that what is meant for you will come to you, is not for the faint of heart . There is no deadline on your dreams, as long as it is continuing to give you joy . In the last few years, I had health challenges that at one point seemed insurmountable, coupled with the pandemic, and a real worry as to whether I could pull my own chair back to the table again.. Some small but steady victories and acknowledgments were thankful. Reminder, that I still deserve to be here.. I hope anyone who’s reading this will know that if you feel that passionate about something, care for it, nurture it, and believe in it.

I was honored with a nomination as a writer, and even a costume designer. Incredibly grateful to have let my voice as a voiceover artist to some great projects the international hit monster Hunt, the series Archer To name a few.. I have high hopes of reuniting with my favorite DP and inspirational friend, Thomas Concordia, and hopefully bringing another project to life. We were blessed to get two projects made. I’m holding out for lucky number three..

How do you think about happiness?

Happiness to me, can be as simple as my trains aligning, when I have to take multiple trains. Watching a happy couple holding hands. My cat, Mz Wiggins meowing for my attention. I have an incredible inspirational village of people in my life. I often say I’m a millionaire in people! Fostering those relationships, and the wins in their lives, brings me joy. I love the thrill of a great street corner find, I have collected some amazing things from the trash, and made them into absolute treasures. My home is a dopamine dream, colorful maximalist, 735 square-foot Palace !! Remaining hopeful, Believing in myself and my capabilities. Asking for help when I need it.Challenging my mind and body. Daring to dream . Loving myself right here, right now ..are all things that lead to my happiness..
