Today we’d like to introduce you to Lacie Aldridge
Hi Lacie, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I have always been very creative and colorful but lacked a sense of direction and stability. Growing up is a state of confusion anyways so it is hard to figure out who you are and fight the confusion of life itself. I went through a lot of trial and error realizing that I did not want to spend my time doing things that didn’t bring me joy and that definitely started narrowing things down. I realized I wanted to go to art school and dig deeper into my creative side. I graduated from SCAD with a degree in Graphic Design but was very passionate about helping people see their true creative potential. I went through a lot to figure out who I am and that I am valuable and worth the effort. And I realized how many people needed to hear that about themselves as well. So many people would look at me and say “I could never wear what you wear or do my hair like that but you look amazing.” They were admiring me but with a side of loss or regret. It drove me to figure how I could help people in a creative way see that no matter what stage of life you’re in it’s never too late to figure who you are, what makes you tick and what brings a smile to your face. Honor those things and show yourself love. That’s what I help people see and do. It’s amazing and brings me so much fulfillment.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It definitely has not been easy choosing the path of growth and self love but it is the most rewarding path to be on. Some of the biggest struggles I have dealt with and still deal with is self doubt. And I think we can all relate to that but the more we do for ourselves and stay consistent the more we can fight that self doubt with self love. I think another major struggle has been redefining certain beliefs. There are so many things in life we have been made to feel guilty about and guilt just shouldn’t be aloud in our heart or minds at all. Don’t let anyone tell you how to feel, you are in charge of how you react and what choices you make. People’s words get in our heads and we allow them to live rent free in our brains controlling our feelings and choices. Learning that it doesn’t have to be that way is a big step towards your happiness.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am an artist and creative consultant who helps people find their truth that was always inside but not given permission to come out. For example someone is working a job they hate and come to me for a session we don’t talk about the job necessarily we talk about what words describe them as a person? What brings you joy? How can you incorporate your strengths and joy into your life on a daily basis? It’s so rewarding to see people grow into their true self and be so excited about loving themselves. Once I learned how to love myself I couldn’t wait to start helping others. We do 10 one on one sessions and then from there we move on to a deeper dive into whatever was revealed about themselves that they want to explore. There is nothing much more rewarding than to see someone get excited about being themselves after our sessions. I also love helping people with projects or ideas that they might be struggling with like planning a birhtday party, getting the perfect gift for someone or even just organizing their closet in a more efficient way.
I am so proud of myself for staying consistent with my own journey that way I could turn it into something that impacts other’s lives. It is amazing to see someone be unsure about themselves at the beginning of a session and then so surprised or excited about what they learned about themselves at the end of the session. We all have something to give and special talents and in my own creative way I help people find out what that is and how to make time for yourself and what you love. We all just need a little spark to light the fire.
Another thing I am able to help people with as they are on this journey is rebranding themselves and their businesses. I get to mix my graphic design degree with my creative consulting and it is such a fun way to help people promote themselves.
We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
I define success as getting up in the morning and giving myself a chance. You do not have to finish something to be successful. Every time you take a step towards your goals, no matter how big or small that is success. Just do your best.
