Today we’d like to introduce you to Hannah Malone
Hi Hannah, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I’ve been a floral designer for over a decade. It started with a deep love for art in all forms. I loved to draw as a child. Every holiday I requested art supplies, sketch books, pastels, watercolors.
Whatever mark making tool I could get my grubby little hands on, fascinated me.
When I was in middle school I took my first class with clay. When I discovered 3-d design I fell in love. Creating sculptures, objects, tangible items that could emmesh with my reality was magic.
I could not make my dream of going to art school, and learning the professional skills I desired, a reality after high school. So I wandered around trying to find my path.
Eventually I wandered into a local flower shop, all but insisting they give me a job. The owner just happened to have been an artist herself, specializing in 3-d design. That was when I knew I was finally in the right place.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
I’ve spent the last 11 years working as a florist. It is a dream come true to create living sculptures for my profession. Any artist can tell you tapping into your creativity on demand will only last so long.
Especially when your soul of an artist is at odds with the demands of capitalism & business. The endless demand for unique, creative and fresh ideas will wring you dry.
It has taken me a long time to begin to recover from the burn out productivity demanded of me.
It is so important to work in a way that fills and rejuvenates your soul.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a floral designer who designs under Peach Moon Floral. I specializes in weddings and photoshoots. I am known for my quirky and unique design elements. I am most proud of my ability to materialize feelings into florals. There are many things words can not say, that flowers can.
My flowers are enchanted~
So maybe we end on discussing what matters most to you and why?
Creating magic moments for people is what drives me. All we have from the best days of our lives are memories. Flowers make moments all the sweeter. They are just as fleeting.
