Today we’d like to introduce you to Freddie Floyd Jr
Hi Freddie, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Regarding my story, I was born in Dawson, Georgia, to Mr. Freddie Floyd Sr. and Mrs. Cathy Floyd. I grew up in a small town called Pineview, Georgia. At Wilcox County High in Rochelle, Ga, I attended high school. In my youth, I was more interested in being a class clown than taking it seriously; it wasn’t until I had my daughter (Rayna Floyd) that I began to take it seriously. The way I once viewed women has changed as a result of her. In my mind, I have always wondered what would happen to my daughter if someone treated her this way. I dedicated my book God’s Gift (Woman) to her and her development into adulthood because she has profoundly impacted my life. She became a number one best-seller.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
My struggles along the way include staying motivated to keep going. Writing for me comes in spurts. One minute, a thought could come into my head, and I am running with it; other days, I have a blank brain regarding writing.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I work in Iraq as a full-time military contractor, specializing in Logistics management. I am proud of my decision to return to school to finish my degree program. I have put it off for too long, and although I work 12 hours a day, I can see light at the end of the tunnel. What sets me apart, at least in my position, is that I genuinely care and enjoy my job. Most people understand that working is necessary to survive but hate their job and constantly complain or look for something better.
So maybe we end on discussing what matters most to you and why?
That is a good question. When I think about what matters most to me, I know that I get up every day and put my best foot forward because when I do this, good things tend to happen to me, and all of the other important things in my life tend to get taken care of. Knowing this, if things do not work out, I believe something else is in store for me.
