Today we’d like to introduce you to Emrod
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My love for music started the day I was born! Before I could even form words, I would be humming songs all day long instead of playing with any toys or kids. My first time in a studio was at the age of 4 years old and I began singing out at 8 years old! Soon I learned instruments such as the guitar, clarinet, and piano! I began accompanying myself on stage when I was 13 and built connections through gigging around Buffalo NY, Nashville TN, Atlanta, GA, and Washington, DC! I released my first album when I was 13 and have been releasing since! My mom has been very supportive through this journey and with little to no connections and no idea where to start we made our way to working with rappers within Buffalo, NY to working with people like HONOREBEL and Scott Storch! Also, I played a show in front of 25,000 people with Nickelback! As I continue to build myself and my image I have learned a lot throughout the journey and I can’t wait to make more memories and reach my dreams!
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
My road to where I am today has not been the easiest. In the beginning of my career, I struggled with my health as I was frequently sick on top of my chronic rhinitis while I was getting over a lisp at the same time. I have had a lot of projects fall through and had to work for my money with gigging to travel. I have even been injured on the set of a photo shoot with the old team I worked with as an American bully pit bull attacked me and left a huge scar across my arm as a result. While there have been many ups and downs and false hope, I have pushed through and believed in myself when some people didn’t!
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am a recording artist who has not only dipped into multiple genres through cover songs but who has experimented within my original music. My original music started with classic rock, then R&B, and now Dance pop/EDM! I definitely specialize in adding soul into all my music along with making other artists songs my own with my 12 string acoustic guitar. I’m known for my soulful, 4 octave voice and my willingness to try any genre of music! I am most proud of my unreleased music that will be coming out soon! I believe in it so much and I have a feeling others will love it as much as I do! My ability to harmonize naturally and creativity within the studio and outside of it definitely sets me apart from others.
What does success mean to you?
Success to me isn’t just succeeding as a recording artist. I want to sell out stadiums, come out with hit songs, collaborate with artists I look up to, win awards for my music, and even play a Super Bowl one day!! There are so many things I want to do that will mean success to me but they won’t just happen if I keep talking about them haha!
