Today we’d like to introduce you to Elian Monjack
Hi Elian, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Clothing has always been my favorite way to express myself authentically
I was a super shy person and got a lot in my head when I was around people, I lacked confidence in myself but when it came to my outfits I was the loudest that could be,
All my insecurities magically vanished and visually being myself was so effortless.
From a young age, I have loved fashion and have always valued designer clothes.
The quality of the fabric, The patterns, the colors, it’s an art.
But unfortunately, like many of us buying $300 pieces of clothing ( in the best-case scenario) was not realistic.
Having a mindset of “ I deserve to look cute” and expressing myself freely, no matter if I have thousands or hundreds of dollars to spend turned me into second-hand clothes.
I have a natural talent for finding really cute items, you can ask anyone who knows me and shops with me,
I can find the cutest item in a pile of clothes so finding amazing designer clothes like Mara Hoffman, and Ulla Johnson came very easily to me!
For as long as I can remember I always got many compliments on my outfits and when I told people how much I paid for them they were shocked.
It hit me one day that this is too good to keep it only to myself, this is how “in the name of clothes” was born
And now I help other women to buy second-hand designer clothes for at least 60% off the retail prices.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The only “challenge” that I might have is to answer everyone’s needs.
Sometimes people don’t realize that I am sourcing second-hand designer clothes
so it’s not like in a store where you have a variety of sizes to choose from,
it’s what you found it’s what you get.
And it needs to qualify 2 things: 1 Is this item of high quality? 2 is the pricing point of this item good?
Once an item answers these criteria, I can add it to the shop. So, in some weeks, I will have more sizes of M and some more of S.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
In one sentence; I help women to look cute and pay less.
I source second-hand designer clothes of high quality and sometimes brand new with tags that are at least 60% off the retail prices, always choosing them according to my intuition and sense of style.
Designers like Ganni, Mara Hoffman, Sea New York, Ulla Johnson, Isabel Marant, Tory Burch, and so much more!
I like to think of my shop as the new fashion magazine where people can buy the designer items they like.
I also help women to ditch the mindset of “I can’t afford it” to “ I DESERVE this”, and “I can have it.” And this is, in my opinion, the ultimate act of self-love.
Risk taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.
Life is all about taking risks, you can never know where the step you are taking today will lead you.
If you do the same thing you did all of your life, you can’t expect that things will change.
Only from the unknown great things can happen, is it scary? Yes! Will it face you with your fears? Of course! But this is how you grow and evolve!
And I know all about this because I have tried so many things from studying textile design and working as a textile designer, and interior decorator to a self-love coach and where I am today.
Also, I had the most amazing supporting system that held me in those times like my husband, my family, and my husband’s family and I am so grateful for their love and support and for giving me the time to figure out my way with no judgment.
