Today we’d like to introduce you to Constance Prince
Hi Constance, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Before I begin my story I would like to take this moment to thank you for such a wonderful opportunity. I am honoured by this experience.
My art journey began without conscious recognition because art has always drawn me in.
It feels impossible to separate myself from creativity; art is an integral part of who I am. Even in my earliest memories, I see art woven into my experiences, going back to my nursery days. The first time I picked up a paintbrush, it felt like destiny—it never left me, and I never stopped.
As an aspiring artist, the burning desire to create remained constant. The question was never whether I wanted to be an artist, but rather how to become one.
Social media became my initial stepping stone, connecting me to a community of fellow creators and art lovers.
Now, I find myself grounded in purpose, fuelled by the amazing process of doing and an unwavering self-belief.
In my experience growth and success follow naturally when you pour your energy into what you love. As I immerse myself in this artistic journey, I’m swept off my feet by life’s joy, and every stroke of the brush becomes a celebration.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The art journey isn’t always smooth sailing, yet the love and appreciation for our craft consistently outweigh the challenges. Each obstacle we overcome becomes a stepping stone, and in retrospect, we appreciate the growth that adversity brings. While there are countless challenges, the most significant revelation I’ve had recently is that the true battle lies within myself, not in the art itself. A healthy mind is essential for a fulfilling artistic journey.
Art has taught me self-awareness and resilience. It opens our eyes to beauty in the smallest details, whether it’s a delicate brushstroke or the play of light or texture on a canvas. As a sensitive person, I once hid behind my art, using it as a conduit for my profound thoughts. But I’ve learned that hiding stifles growth; instead, I embrace my state of being and allow creativity to flow.
Art becomes a sanctuary where anguish and joy coexist harmoniously. When I express my most emotionally charged moments through my work, I find relief and create some of my best pieces. It’s about fearlessly applying oneself, regardless of how others perceive us. In doing so, we connect with those destined to resonate with our unique expression. Our art.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m a full-time self-taught artist, primarily known for my work with acrylics and floral themes. Now with the addition of wild insects.
Over time, I’ve embraced my wild imagination, allowing it to take centre stage in my creative process.
What truly fuels my passion is the personification of everyday objects. I love bringing them to life through my art. Additionally, I’m drawn to the miniature world of tiny creatures that coexist with us, which often finds its way into my pieces.
Currently, I’m immersed in creating miniature artworks. These pieces come with cheeky titles and often feature flirtatious flies as their subjects. Working with acrylics is my go-to choice because, as a busy mom of four, I appreciate their quick drying time and flexibility for layering. No need to stress about drying times or interruptions—I can dive right back in whenever inspiration strikes.
What truly sets me apart is my refusal to shy away from my eclectic nature. In a time of niche culture and expectations, I’ve stayed true to myself. I’m not one for simplicity by design—I won’t shrink my creativity to appease those who seek straightforward art.
While I may not resonate with everyone, there’s always someone out there who “gets it.” And for me, that’s more than enough. I believe I am enough.
How can people work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
Support and collaboration have always unfolded organically in my artistic journey.
I’ve never actively sought them out or pushed for them; they’ve emerged through genuine conversations that resonate. If you’re interested in connecting, feel free to reach out via my website, email, or direct message on social media.
Let’s let creativity flow naturally. I’m excited to explore new possibilities and create meaningful art together!
