Today we’d like to introduce you to Cheyenne Simpkins.
Hi Cheyenne, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I always photographed nature and flowers on my mom’s film camera as a child. I loved capturing life around me. In 2014, my husband bought me a small camera to capture my travels. I started to photograph my friends lives in the military with the camera and learned that I love connecting with people.
In 2017 I officially bought my first camera of my business. I slowly started to grow my business over the next few years until I finally went full time in 2021. I think what has truly made me into the person and photographer I am today is all the amazing people I have had the opportunity to work with over the years.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I’ve definitely struggled along the way. I feel like whenever you start something new there is always challenges. I have struggled a lot over the years with imposter syndrome.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I specialize in couple’s and wedding photography. I’m so grateful for the opportunity to connect and capture so many people’s memories. Every story is unique and I pride myself on capturing my couple’s moments exactly as they remember them. I love capturing the little details, like how people in love look at one another or the sweet hugs and tears on someone’s wedding day.
How do you define success?
Success for me is defined by how much I love my job and the joy it brings to my life. I don’t look at how many followers or likes I have on a post. I feel successful when a client texts me telling me how comfortable I made them feel or share all the emotions they felt when looking at their gallery for the first time.
