Today we’d like to introduce you to Cheyenne Puga.
Hi Cheyenne, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Consistency has been the foundation of my journey. Ever since I was a child, my goal was to become a working actor and filmmaker, and I’ve stayed committed to that, even when life threw challenges my way. The craft has always been a part of me, and with every project, my passion and creativity grow stronger. A big part of my success also comes from the incredible people around me—like-minded, hardworking individuals who inspire me and grow alongside me. Surround yourself with people who lift you up—it makes all the difference.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The short answer is hahaha no. Smooth roads may seem ideal, but they don’t shape us the way challenges do. The obstacles we face are what make us who we’re meant to be. I’ve been open about some of my battles, like living with an autoimmune disease, while others I keep private because they’re not entirely mine to share. Still, they influence who I am and the stories I tell through filmmaking and writing. As Carrie Fisher said, “Take your broken heart, and make it into art.” It’s healing, empowering, and can help others.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m the co-founder of HAG Productions, where I’m hands-on in every stage of storytelling—whether I’m directing, producing, or editing. I also co-host The Hags Podcast with Jimmie Waites and Emily Eliette, where we share behind-the-scenes into filmmaking, acting, and our creative journeys as a production company.
As an actor, you can catch me in my latest Lifetime film, “You Better Watch Out.” I’m also leading HAG Productions’ debut feature film, “Against Us,” set to film this spring. I love coaching actors as well, helping them perfect self-tapes and shape their careers. Watching my clients land roles and grow in confidence is incredibly rewarding!
If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
As a kid, I was a mix of shy and bold. I felt nervous about life but oddly confident on stage. Performing—whether in a play, dance, or cheerleading—gave me a sense of empowerment I couldn’t find anywhere else. I was also fiercely independent, writing scripts, researching how to get into movies, and making little films with friends. At the same time, I loved being outdoors, exploring the creek near my house. Honestly, I was just a weird kid—equal parts dreamer, performer, and explorer.
