Today we’d like to introduce you to Becky Nieves.
Hi Becky, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My name is Becky, a wife, mom of 4, and a Cycle Breaking Empowerment Coach. How did I get here? I am also the eldest daughter of. narcissist and an enable. I went no contact with my parents six years ago due to them repeatedly disrespecting my boundaries, my parenting, and jeopardizing my childrens’ health. This was after many years of smaller stints of no contact and attempting to fix and renegotiate the relationship. It was one of the hardest but most freeing things that I have ever done, and I understand that it is not for everyone. I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and have a significant amount of life experience as a rare disease parent, a parent of nuerodivergent children, and all through my own journey through depression and anxiety.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Hardly has my path been smooth. I would say it has been like a series of unfortunate events. I became a teen mom during my college years and was once on welfare. I met my husband when my oldest son was 7, and we four additional children, one with a rare disease and one we lost to stillbirth. During my course of no contact with my parents, my mother was diagnosed with early onset Alzheimer’s and passed away. Life has generally been a feast or famine for me, and navigating life’s challenges with multiple fires to attend to all at once.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
Life has taken me along so many different pathways. After completing my bachelor’s, I worked community mental health and corrections. I was in a Master’s program when my daughter was diagnosed, so I left the workforce and my schooling to attend to her. I got involved with the non-profit dedicated to curing her disease, the HPS Network. I was a jack of all trades there and currently sit on their board of directors. Also, being a special education parent, I was always heavily involved in volunteering in the schools, culminating in a run and win as a member of the school board. Politics was certainly not on my bingo card lol. I then launched a Virtual Assistant business, Snow Virtual Professionals, have a few great clients that I love, but still felt unfulfilled. Through talking with many coaches and therapy, I feel the need to coach on my greatest and most traumatic part of my story, going no contact with my parents and breaking the cycle that I did not want for my children. My work now consists of being an Empowerment Coach for those dealing in toxic relationships and wanting better for themselves and the next generation. I want everyone in this position to be able to proudly say, “It ends with me.”

I have met so many amazing women throughout this online journey of kick ass female entrepreneurship and truly credit many of them to opening my eyes to the fact that I was still playing small. I have to give a lot of credit to Donna Appell, the founder and Director of the HPS Network who first empowered me to change the narrative and take control on what it was like to have a child with a rare disease. My children are my whys and my constants. My oldest son, Berto, has pretty much grown up with me and been my “test baby” as he so lovingly says lol. I am proud of his accomplishments as a college senior and a U.S. Marine Reservist. My daughter, Leanna, who is the smartest and bravest kid I know navigating teen life and having Hermansky Pudlak Syndrome, she wants to sit on the Supreme Court and she inspires me every single day. My daughter Gianna is an unstoppable force who is freakishly good at everything and I can’t wait to see where life takes her. My littlest guy RJ, who is a cute and also unstoppable force and definitely is keeping me young and on my toes.
