Today we’d like to introduce you to Aisha White
Aisha, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Well funny story. I was about 28 working as a server at a local restaurant in my town. When a girl came up to me and said I work for Mac cosmetics and I like your look, we are hiring currently and you should apply! I was floored. Like no way. Those women are so glamorous. I told her thank you and that I definitely would. Which I did not plan on it all. Well she came back about 2-3 days later and asked if I applied. I said no not yet(with zero intention of applying) she insisted. So I did and about 3 months later I was offered a full time position. Dream came true.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Smooth road? No! Lots of bumps. Mac is a great company to work for but like with all jobs the ppl companies put in place are usually what makes it hard. There were many people in upper management that made question my time and those times where hard. Trying to figure what is my next move what the right move or the smart move. Also my position was eliminated after the 1st covid shut down after working for Mac for 15 years. I was devastated
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I’m a professional makeup artist I specialize in making ppl feel and look beautiful. My clientele is very diverse in the sense I do bridal. Photo shoots. Proms. Headshots. You name it and really enjoy Halloween glam if that’s a thing…haha! It really helps bring out my creative side. I am proud of my pride. I take pride in what I do and I want everyone to feel happy and beautiful. What set me apart is work ethic. I don’t say no! I give options whether those options work for you or not is on you but I will always make time.
We love surprises, fun facts and unexpected stories. Is there something you can share that might surprise us?
When I was about 5-6 years old my mom had a book illustrated and published for me. Called “Aisha’s braids”. My mom owned her own hair salon that specialized in braids so she had the book done cause I was like the salon mascot. I would always smooze the clients and tell them how beautiful they looked and I always made sure they knew they had to pay my mom at the end of their service 🤣
