Today we’d like to introduce you to Sarah Hill
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My passion for food runs deep, and a significant part of my upbringing involved traveling. My dad, who is British and Italian, grew up mainly in England, so we often traveled to visit family and explore England, Italy, France, and other parts of Europe. My Nonna always filled us with her delicious homemade dishes, like her famous Italian pasta sauce, and showered us with love and warmth.
I attended UMass Amherst, where I studied Public Health, then went on to earn my Master’s in Public Health and worked as a health inspector. Despite the demanding work, I always made time for cooking and gradually began to adopt a ‘healthy lifestyle.’ I started documenting my workouts and meals on Instagram, and this journey helped me realize that for me, a healthy lifestyle meant finding a balance—especially when it came to food and exercise. I wanted to enjoy everything I loved without guilt, feeling nourished and satisfied instead. This curiosity about how different foods affected my body led me to pursue my first nutritionist certification in 2019, and I haven’t looked back since.
I began creating recipes using real, whole foods and found so much joy in it that I decided to share my creations. That’s how “Real Food with Sarah” was born in 2020, even though I had no idea what I was doing at first. This endeavor has brought me immense joy and countless opportunities. When I create recipes, I focus on simplicity and flavor, understanding that while not everyone can spend hours in the kitchen, preparing a delicious meal in 30 minutes is entirely possible without compromising quality.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Definitely not! There is so much information and misinformation out there for food bloggers and it’s been a learning experience to get where I am. There have been many years of little traffic and not the best recipes or photos and mistakes made that needed to be fixed. However, there are many great people in this community that are willing to help and the best thing to do is to keep going.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
I am a recipe developer, food blogger and food photographer. I specialize in family-friendly recipes that take around just 30 minutes to make. My brand is focused on teaching my readers how to meal plan, meal prep and grocery shop. I am most proud of the delicious recipes I create and share with my readers and that I am providing them with new ways to feed their families.
Additionally, I offer freelance photography, videography and recipe creation for food and beverage brands. I also do some sponsored blog posts and social media posts.
