Hi Nikenya, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
It started when I entered Earthside on June 29th, no I kid. I was early in my career, when I began to realize the limitations in the therapeutic model. My Black and Brown clientele would reference their spiritual beliefs and how that was a foundational component in their perceptions, thoughts and behaviors. It made me wonder what a holistic approach could support someone’s journey in healing.
In a beautiful dance of parallelism, I began my own spiritual journey. I eventually released the religion I was raised in – Christianity and found myself searching for a more spiritual open construct. First I took an energy healing course, than Therapeutic Touch, Intuition & Psychic Development and finally a ministerial program in Spiritualism,
I knew I didn’t want to offer a certain religion in the services I offered. I wanted my clientele from any spiritual background to feel welcome and seen. Through my own spiritual development and this need I saw in the services offered, I LLC’s my business, ABC Holistic Center in 2016. Since then, it has grown to provide therapeutic, healing and divine spaces for people to explore, learn, and questi0n on an individual and collective level.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
No, it has not been a smooth road. However, I am learning that is the way of entrepreneurship. I use to say that I can do “the thing” with my eyes closed. It is running a business part, that is hard. I have to remind myself there are master degree programs centered around running a business. I have a master’s degree in “my thing” – Human Relations.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
.ABC Holistic Center LLC brings the mind and spirit back to a state of balance by offering 1:1 and group services of intuitive coaching, psychic mediumship readings, holistic spirit circles and grief support. As a two time author, I use my latest book, Letters to Grief, A Guide to Understanding and Normalizing Loss as a vehicle for my Grief services as my book not only documents my “year of firsts” after the unexpected transition of my mother, but also has journal prompts and meditations. I specialize at the intersection of thoughts and spirit.
I love this journey of entrepreneurship has not only produced a successful business, but is producing a personal brand. I am a part of a documentary that premiered at Sundance, Look into my Eyes that is circling the movie festival circuits. It afforded me to bring the documentary to my hometown for a single showing. I was able to do a question and answer portion and a live seance. That is something I am very proud of.
