Today we’d like to introduce you to Kristina Fitzpatrick
Hi Kristina, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Certainly! My journey with Paper&Flowers began with a simple passion for crafting and a love for the art of paper. What started as a hobby of creating intricate paper flowers for friends and family quickly turned into something more significant. I noticed a demand for unique, handcrafted floral designs that offered an eco-friendly alternative to traditional fresh flowers, which often have a limited lifespan. In the early days, I experimented with different types of paper and techniques, always aiming to blend creativity with durability. Positive feedback from my friends and first clients encouraged me to take the leap and officially launch Paper&Flowers. As we grew, we expanded our offerings to include an online supplies store, making it easier for fellow crafters to access high-quality, sustainable materials. We now operate offices in New York, Miami, and Houston, which has allowed us to better serve our clients across the country. Our commitment to eco-friendly practices has resonated with many, leading us to collaborate with top global brands who share our values. We continue to innovate and explore new techniques, always striving to make the decoration world more environmentally conscious while delivering beautifully crafted, long-lasting designs. It’s been an incredible journey, and I’m excited to see where it takes us next.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
don’t believe there’s ever a smooth road to success, especially when you’re starting a new business and navigating uncharted territory. In my case, I had to figure out how to introduce and promote a completely new product to the market. When I began selling large paper flowers, most people associated paper flowers with origami, which made it hard to get the word out that my product was something entirely different. There was no training or guide for this kind of business.
Being an immigrant added its own set of challenges—language barriers, adjusting to a different mentality, and understanding how to approach business here. On top of that, I went through a divorce and became a single mother, juggling raising my one-and-a-half-year-old son while trying to grow my business. It was incredibly tough, but I’m so grateful for everything I have now. Every struggle taught me valuable lessons, and I’m appreciative of the journey I’ve had to get where I am.
As you know, we’re big fans of Paper&Flowers. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
