Today we’d like to introduce you to Khadija Ashurova Bellio.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I started my journey in Baku, Azerbaijan, where I earned a degree in psychology. In 2018, I moved to the United States and joined the Year Up United program, which equipped me with valuable skills and opportunities.
Currently, I work as a Lead Software Tester at a fintech company, ensuring the delivery of high-quality products to our clients.
Beyond my professional career, I have a strong passion for mentoring. Since 2020, I have been supporting young women in Azerbaijan through the Shahla Garayeva Scholarship Program. This experience led me to launch my own mentoring initiative, KhadijaTalks, in 2023, with the goal of helping young adults unlock their potential and become the best versions of themselves.
My journey has been defined by resilience and a dedication to personal growth, and I am committed to empowering others to achieve their goals.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
My journey has been far from smooth, but every challenge has shaped me into who I am today. Moving to the United States in 2018 was a major transition, filled with cultural adjustments and the pressure of building a new life from scratch. As an immigrant, I faced the difficulties of navigating a new job market, proving my skills, and overcoming language barriers.
Enrolling in the Year Up United program was a game-changer, equipping me with the skills and opportunities necessary to step into the corporate world. However, even after gaining experience, advancing in my career required perseverance, continuous learning, and adapting to an ever-evolving industry.
Beyond my professional challenges, launching my mentoring initiative, KhadijaTalks, came with its own set of obstacles. Balancing a full-time career while mentoring young adults required time management and dedication. Despite the struggles, my commitment to helping others kept me motivated.
Every setback has taught me resilience and the importance of pushing forward. These experiences have not only shaped my career but also fueled my passion for empowering others to overcome their own challenges.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
KhadijaTalks is a mentoring initiative I founded in 2023 to help young adults, students, and aspiring professionals unlock their potential and work toward becoming the best versions of themselves. Through personalized mentorship, career guidance, and skill development, I aim to bridge the gap between ambition and opportunity for those who may not have access to the right resources or networks.
What sets KhadijaTalks apart is its focus on real-world experience, practical advice, and a strong sense of community. Having navigated my own challenges as an immigrant and professional in the tech industry, I bring firsthand insights to help mentees overcome obstacles and achieve their goals.
I’m most proud of the impact KhadijaTalks has had on young individuals who, through mentorship, have gained confidence, clarity, and direction in their careers. The program isn’t just about guidance-it’s about empowerment, self-growth, and creating a ripple effect where those who succeed go on to support others.
For anyone looking to grow professionally, gain mentorship, or explore new opportunities, KhadijaTalks offers a supportive and inspiring space to help them reach their full potential.
What does success mean to you?
I define success as continuous growth, resilience, and the ability to make a positive impact on others. It’s not just about personal achievements but also about uplifting those around me. True success comes from overcoming challenges, staying true to my values, and using my experiences to inspire and empower others to reach their full potential.
