Hi Keri Lynne, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’m a former CHRO and watched too many candidates get negotiation and career navigation wrong….I certainly did my part to guide and develop programs for helping them get in the drivers seat of their career and mentored/coaching thousands of people over my career – but decided in 2023 to make a bigger impact and launch my company, The Salary Bump. I felt a strong pull to do my part to close the gender/racial pay gap.
That said, I’m a professional coach and spent 30 years in corporate – cannot imagine going back now that I’m on my own! Having the most fun I’ve ever had and helping people find their voice and confidence to have an abundant mindset around money and teach them how to have these conversations most effectively – my clients earn 30-50% more because of our work together.
I hold three passports and imagine a world where I’m traveling for the majority of my time!!! I love experiencing the world, cultures and connecting with people everywhere! Traveling has taught me so much, especially solo travel. If you told me I had 1 hour to pack my bag and pick where I would go – it would be Italy all day long. Everything about that country is beyond incredible!!!! But India is my happy place.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
too many to describe:
– at 24, moving from Canada to the US – knowing no one
– at 33, losing my husband in a car accident and left with our 3 year old to figure out how to navigate
– at 38, moving to Germany as an expat not knowing the language
– at 52, launching a company having never thought of being an entrepreneur
So many twists and turns with these stories and so much more.
The struggles are where I’ve learned the most….learning to be conscious about learning in the calm.
