I started Golden Group Roofing because I saw a serious problem in the roofing industry—one that frustrated homeowners and made an already stressful process even worse. Roofing companies had a reputation for being unreliable, using outdated practices, and providing poor customer service. I knew there had to be a better way.

My journey into roofing wasn’t conventional. I didn’t grow up in construction, and I certainly wasn’t handed a blueprint for success. I immigrated to the U.S. from Albania as a child, and like many immigrants, I learned early on that hard work and perseverance were non-negotiable. By the time I was in college studying business, I was also a young mom, trying to build a future for my daughter, Chiara. That responsibility gave me a different kind of drive—I wasn’t just working for myself, I was working for her.

When I first considered roofing, people doubted me. It’s a male-dominated industry, and I had no technical background in it. But what I *did* have was a vision. I saw how outdated the industry was, how customers were being underserved, and how much room there was to bring professionalism, transparency, and innovation into the space. Instead of following the traditional roofing model, I reimagined it.

I built Golden Group Roofing on the foundation of integrity, technology, and customer experience. I implemented modern tools like drone inspections, digital contracts, and real-time project tracking—things that were unheard of in roofing at the time. I focused on educating homeowners rather than just selling to them. I made customer service a priority and refused to cut corners on quality.

The journey wasn’t easy. I had to prove myself in an industry that wasn’t used to seeing women in leadership, let alone owning and growing a multi-million-dollar roofing company. But I kept pushing forward, knowing that if I stayed true to my mission, the results would follow.

Looking back, I’m proud of how far we’ve come, but I know this is just the beginning.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?

Building Golden Group Roofing has been a journey filled with both wins and challenges. As an immigrant, a woman, and a young entrepreneur entering the male-dominated construction industry, I faced skepticism and doubt from various quarters. Starting without prior experience in roofing meant I had to learn the technical aspects from scratch while simultaneously managing the complexities of running a business. That’s a hard thing to do when you’re trying to land deals and keep your business going. You don’t want your clients, your team or your competitors to see you doubting yourself. You want to remain confident even if you’re just figuring it out yourself as you go along.

Financial constraints were a significant hurdle. Bootstrapping the company without external investors required meticulous financial planning and often meant making personal sacrifices to ensure the business stayed afloat. To keep it real, I worked for free. Luckily, I lived with my parents. In my parent’s home, I shared one bedroom with my husband and daughter. Balancing the roles of a young mother and a business owner added another layer of complexity, demanding effective time management and determination. I knew I had to make it, failing was not an option because I was already at rock bottom, and I don’t think it could have gotten any worse than that. I would take my daughter to construction sites with me each day.

However, the challenges that I faced became the fuel to keep me going. Over time, the obstacles that once seemed daunting became the driving force behind our growth and success. Today, with multiple offices and a dedicated team, Golden Group Roofing stands as a testament to the power of resilience and innovation in overcoming adversity.
