Today we’d like to introduce you to Freddie Taylor Sr.
Hi Freddie, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
My current achievements and position are the result of my unwavering faith in Jesus Christ, the constant encouragement and wisdom of my devoted wife, and the inspiration and joy provided by my wonderful children.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The journey to where I am today has been challenging, marked by seasons of uncertainty and growth. A pivotal part of my process included a period of incarceration, which became a transformative experience. During that time, I focused on refocusing, realigning, and restructuring my life, ultimately shaping me into the husband, father, and man I am today.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Ingredients VA LLC ?
I am the owner of a catering business specializing in food service, partnering with nonprofit organizations to support community initiatives. This includes hosting community events, feeding the homeless, collaborating with schools for events and field days, and working with churches to provide meals for those in need.
Professionally, I serve as a Casey Life Skills Coach and Mentor with Quality of Life Counseling Center. In this role, I collaborate with local school divisions, probation offices, and court systems to mentor at-risk youth. We focus on life skills development, including coaching, mentoring, coping strategies, workforce development, resume building, job etiquette, and interview preparation through practical scenarios. Additionally, we partner with grassroots organizations to provide professional attire for interviews and work to bridge the gap between schools, communities, and homes to support holistic development.
Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
I want to acknowledge my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, who serves as the foundation of everything I do, providing me with the strength to fulfill the purpose He has set for my life. I am deeply grateful for my wife, whose unwavering support, encouragement, and belief in me are constant sources of motivation. She lifts me up when I stumble, helps me refocus, and inspires me to keep moving forward.
I also extend my gratitude to Apostle Demonte Edmonds for his strong spiritual leadership, mentorship, and guidance. His encouragement, correction, and wisdom have been instrumental in helping me grow both spiritually and professionally, empowering me to achieve more as I continue to serve.
Additionally, I am thankful for my employer, Mr. Deuene Hickman, who provides me with opportunities to grow within my field and supports my efforts to inspire and motivate the youth I work with. His professional insights and belief in my ability to connect with and guide these young individuals help me be a source of encouragement, pushing them to see and reach their full potential, even when they may not yet believe in themselves.
