Dr. Nicole, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
As a former single mother facing financial struggles, I have overcome adversity to become a driving force in the Memphis’ entrepreneur ecosystem. Drawing from my own experiences, I founded The Golden Key Entrepreneur Training Academy to provide vital support and resources to minority business owners in the city. Through mentorship, networking opportunities, and funding, my goal is to empower and uplift fellow entrepreneurs to succeed and thrive. My journey from humble beginnings to a respected leader in the community fuels my passion for creating positive change and opportunities for all.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
As a female entrepreneur in Memphis, Tennessee, I have faced numerous challenges and obstacles on my journey to success. For many years entrepreneurship has been a male-dominated industry, i am happy to be playing a part in its reconstruction. No more having to prove my worth and capabilities to gain respect and recognition. For womenpreneurs, access to funding and resources can be limited, making it difficult to grow and scale our businesses. Additionally, balancing the demands of entrepreneurship with family responsibilities can be overwhelming at times. Despite these challenges, I remain determined and resilient, knowing that my hard work and perseverance will, has and always pays off.

The Golden Key Entrepreneur Academy, powered by The SheEO Unlimited and the Golden Institute, is a transformative program designed to empower and support aspiring entrepreneurs in unlocking their full potential. Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
Growing up, I always had an entrepreneurial spirit that drove me to think creatively and innovatively. From a young age, I was constantly coming up with new ideas and ways to turn my passions into profitable ventures. Whether it was creating designing and selling a neighborhood newsletter to selling baked goods from my mini bake oven to organizing community events, I was always looking for opportunities to showcase my creativity and business acumen.
This intrinsic drive to create and innovate has stayed with me throughout my life, shaping my journey as an entrepreneur. I have always been drawn to challenges and opportunities to make a difference, using my creativity and innovation to overcome obstacles and achieve my goals. This entrepreneurial mindset has fueled my ambition and passion for making a positive impact in the world, driving me to constantly push boundaries and explore new possibilities.
