Today we’d like to introduce you to Destinee Rosemurgy
Destinee, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I’m Destinee, the owner of Destinee Design, a design studio dedicated to creating timeless and elegant brand + web design for beauty, wellness, and creative brands. My path to where I am today wasn’t the one I initially envisioned—it’s been a mix of unexpected turns, challenges, and deeply rewarding moments that shaped the business I’ve built.
I originally started college with the intention of entering the medical field. I needed an extra credit and decided to take a graphic design class—without really knowing what it was. That’s where I discovered the combination of creativity and problem-solving – it just felt right. Design became my way of blending the two passions I didn’t know could coexist.
After graduating during the uncertainty of the pandemic and recovering from a brain surgery, I had to rethink my direction. Corporate design roles didn’t feel aligned with who I was or what I wanted. So, in January 2022, I took a leap into full-time entrepreneurship. I launched Destinee Design with the goal of helping women entrepreneurs bring their vision to life through thoughtful, beautiful branding that feels true to them.
What I love most about my work is the connection I build with my clients. Many of the women I work with have faced hardships, just like many of us have, and turned those challenges into stepping stones for their dreams. Every brand I craft is rooted in authenticity, collaboration, and my commitment to creating something that not only looks beautiful but feels like a perfect fit for the client. It’s a privilege to help women business owners build brands that inspire confidence, trust, and a sense of belonging—not just for their audiences, but for themselves.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It hasn’t always been a smooth road, but it’s been a rewarding one. One of the biggest personal challenges tied to my business has been managing visual migraines, which started after my brain surgery. These involve flashing lights and partial vision loss that can last up to an hour. During these episodes, I have to step away from work, which can be frustrating when you’re running a business.
This has shaped how I approach my business and connect with my clients. It’s made me more empathetic, open, and intentional in how I communicate. I love learning about my clients’ stories—what inspired them to start their business, the challenges they’ve faced, and their vision for the future. That connection is at the heart of what I do.
On the business side, starting without any prior business experience has been both fun and intimidating. Entrepreneurship is a completely different mindset from a traditional career. There’s no set structure or guarantees, which requires a lot of self-discipline and confidence. I had to learn how to sell my services, which felt uncomfortable at first. But I also love the freedom to try new things and see the direct impact of my efforts. The possibilities are endless, even if that uncertainty can be overwhelming at times.
I’ve found that entrepreneurship is full of problem-solving. It’s been an adjustment to unlearn the rigid ways we’re taught to work in school or corporate jobs and embrace the flexibility and creativity of running a business. It hasn’t always been easy, but every challenge has taught me something valuable and brought me closer to where I want to be.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Destinee Design?
Destinee Design is a branding and web design studio specializing in creating custom, timeless designs for women-owned businesses in the beauty, wellness, and creative industries. We focus on creating branding or websites that not only look beautiful but also tell my clients’ stories in a way that resonates with their audience and drives real results. Our goal is to create designs that feel like a true reflection of who our clients are and where they want their business to go—designs that give them confidence, clarity, and a sense of pride in their work.
A few things that set us apart is:
Fully Custom Brand Solutions: We never use pre-made templates (except for our website templates), ensuring every brand or website we create is completely unique to our clients.
Brand Strategy with Every Project: Strategy is at the core of everything we create. We believe a thoughtful and intentional foundation is essential for building a brand that stands the test of time.
Authenticity, Compassion, and Experience: We prioritize open and honest communication, taking the time to deeply understand our clients’ stories and what makes their businesses unique. This approach allows us to create designs that reflect their values and connect with their target audience.
We’re proud of the relationships we build with our clients and the process we’ve developed to make designing an enjoyable and collaborative experience. We keep things relaxed, productive, and organized, helping clients feel confident and at ease every step of the way. To celebrate the end of a project, we love sending a thank-you gift with their branding on it—it’s always exciting to see their brand in action in the real world.
One of the things we’re most proud of is the feedback we receive from clients who say their new branding and websites have helped them feel more confident and aligned with their business goals. For us, there’s nothing better than hearing how much they love the results and seeing how it’s made an impact.
We want readers to know that behind every beautiful brand or website is a thoughtful strategy that drives its success. A logo is just the beginning—a complete brand identity is essential for creating a cohesive, recognizable presence. And while branding and websites are powerful tools, their effectiveness depends on the ongoing efforts of the business to drive traffic and leads.
If you’re looking for a design partner who values your story, your goals, and your success, Destinee Design is here to bring your vision to life.
Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
No business is built alone, and I’m incredibly grateful for the people who have supported and inspired me along the way. My boyfriend has been my biggest supporter and motivator—he’s a huge reason I’m able to do what I do. He’s the one who pushed me to take the leap and start my business in the first place, helping me see potential in myself that I didn’t initially recognize. My family has also been a constant source of encouragement, no matter what idea I come up with next. My mom, in particular, has shown me the value of strength, resilience, and hard work, which I carry into everything I do.
Looking back, there are a few key people who shaped my journey early on. In high school, I worked with a photographer who really fostered my love for creativity and taught me so much about the power of visual storytelling. Later, my design professors played a pivotal role—they introduced me to the field of graphic design and encouraged me to change my major, which ultimately set me on the path I’m on today.
One person who made an incredible impact was my first client. She trusted me with her project when I was just starting out and helped boost my business by referring me to others. Her support gave me the momentum I needed in those early days and showed me the value of strong client relationships.
I’m also deeply thankful to all my clients, who have not only trusted me with their brands but also shared kind words and continued to refer me to others. Knowing they believe in my work is incredibly meaningful, and their support has been instrumental in the growth of Destinee Design.
All of these people—whether they’ve been in my life for years or joined me on this journey more recently—have played a part in shaping who I am and the business I’ve built. Their support and belief in me continue to inspire me every day.
