Today we’d like to introduce you to Chantel Richardson
Hi Chantel, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I started my journey into entrepreneurship around 2019 towards the early start of the pandemic. I didn’t know how, or what I needed to start, but I know I was passionate about digital marketing, content creation, branding and more. Within my background in communication, this start seemed like something that would be simple, and easy to immense myself with… BOY was I WRONG! I had no clue on how entrepreneurship would play a role in the ups and downs of chasing my dreams/going after my passions.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Not at ALL! Haha! It definitely was a journey that was exactly like those memes of “the success path.” Ya know, the one that shows what we think of success versus what it really is… yeah that! Man, I went through so many struggles within the time frame of growing my company. First, I dealt with the issue of not gaining any clientele, then going forward and having to deal with clientele who did not want to pay for my services, and then lastly dealing with personal issues such as familial loss, personal growth, and relocation. Dealing with these issues definitely put me in a mindset of defeat, but regardless of that, I prevailed and was able to bring my business to where it is, today.
We’ve been impressed with NINETYDEGREE DIGITAL, TIZZYTLKS, LEREVUE CRITIQUE AND THE CHANTIZZY PODCAST , but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I actually maintain FIVE businesses! (How? I don’t know haha!) I am the Founder and CEO of The Chantizzy Podcast, TIZZYTLKS, NINETYDEGREE DIGITAL: a creative agency, Marketing Minis, an upcoming 501c3 company, and Le ReVue Critique. Majority of my businesses are entertainment platforms, but they also aid in garnering creatives. TIZZYTLKS asks creatives/business owners/entrepreneurs and everyday people about their dreams and goals, and how they are accomplishing them. The Chantizzy Podcast is a media platform I started in college in 2018 that allowed advice to college students on navigating adulthood. Le ReVue Critique is my “baby” of my business, and this platform allows me to review and critique what’s new and noteworthy in film, tv, music, and more. NINETYDEGREE DIGITAL is a creative agency that aids small businesses in finding the right angle for brands, businesses, services, and products. I am proud of all my businesses, and the ability to brand and market them on social platforms, media outlets, and of course through word-of-mouth. There has been real growth amongst my companies, gaining engagement from companies such as Byoma, SuperchargedENT, SOLA Miami, Bacon B*tch, House of Flowers LLC, Universal Pictures, MSNBC, CanvasRebel, Peacock and more! I would love readers to learn about my companies by engaging and interacting with them on social platforms or in-person, when available.
Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
I would say my entire TRIBE! I want to give a big thank you to my Mom, My Dad, my brother, My grandparents, My grandma Joann (may she rest!), my best friends, Alexis and Bola, and my partner Meze who supports me in everything I do. I also want to thank my clients turned friends, Versace, Ness, Andria, Jasmine, Nelle, Tori, Kayla F, Alisha, and more! (Those I forgot I apologize!) I also want to thank the entrepreneurs I met along the way: Tash, Pash, Tae, Khalil, Shell, Anya, Chelsea, Jancel, La, Oriana, Kemi, and Cedes (The best lash tech in the game). These few individuals have either: 1. Continuously pushed me in my journey as a business owner, 2. Believed in my dreams and goals 3. Have been just as passionate in the field as I have, and lastly 4. The people who clap and cheer me on when I don’t feel my most confident. Without this tribe, I feel as though I wouldn’t be able to grow as I did.
