Today we’d like to introduce you to Antonius Melton
Hi Antonius , we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
In 2015, I lost my father to stage 4 lung cancer. Experiencing a devastating blow watching him fight the toughest battle of his life, change my outlook on life through the process.
If you’ve dealt with a love one or close friend battle cancer I’m sure you can relate to the same story. I never seen such a disease ruin the existence of a human beings life such as a cancer, what a site to see. A very hard pill to swallow watching the person who help give you life fight for theirs is a just a feeling you can’t explain, how do expect the fact that your father is dieing and not sure when your going to receive a phone call.
I had my moments with my dad when he’ll have his break downs, like the time he lost his vision and couldn’t see for a period of time or when he found out that he had to have a tumor removed from his brain, it all does something to you. It made me question my purpose and existence in the world far as who am I supposed to be.
After my father gained his wing’s I knew exactly what I wanted to do with my life, and that was to help support other’s who battle cancer. This is how CKC was birthed.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It has not been a smooth a road, it’s been many struggles and obstacles to overcome along the way.
Being an entrepreneur is hard especially when you lack the funds and resources to help support your vision or reach goals that would only create growth within your business.
Another tough obstacle is finding some real dedicated people who are committed to your cause just as much as you. The further you get in your journey you’ll understand that most has good intentions, but also a life of their own. I had to except that if I’m going to be successful that I really have to take control of my dream. We all need great people to help us along the way but if your true to who you are the right people will gravitate to you.
My hardest obstacle just has been consistency. Discouragement will set in from time to time when you don’t see results you wish to see, just that will make you feel like throwing in the towel. There has been many other struggles I’ve had to fight personally, these are just a few.
We’ve been impressed with CKC of WNY, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
CKC of WNY is a dedicated organization that provides peace, stability, and encouragement, to cancer patients and their families throughout the United State.
Through fundraising and donations my organization has the privilege to help support those who struggle financially with medical bills and prescription cost’s.
On the other side of thing’s, I also have a clothing line that goes by the name of Clothing Kills cancer. This line of clothing helps drives my organization through the sales of my apparel, having a built in donation from each sale.
With all the clothing lines in the world CKC is brand that geared towards providing value to the lives of other’s when their at their lowest point. We provide love and encouragement when it’s needed the most.
What does success mean to you?
Success is never giving up! It’s when you can take a licking and keep on ticking. It’s when you can honestly realize how far you’ve come when your first embarked on your journey. For me, it’s realizing how blessed I truly am not having all. As humans we are so undeserving of our blessings because we fall short of god’s glory every day living a imperfect life. But how amazing it when god’s still has our best interest and still gives us an opportunity to be someone we never thought we could be, that what you call real success.
