Today we’d like to introduce you to Anna Titkova
Anna, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
From my childhood I had a big dream to become a doctor that soon became an exact goal. Following this calling I entered Kharkiv National Medical University, then received master’s degree in medicine, PhD in internal diseases and a scientific title of Associate Professor in the Kharkiv National Medical University where I have started my medical journey as a first-year student so far away.
From 2014 I was engaged in clinical trials performance in the multidisciplinary research site and in 2019 I started the cooperation with international site management organization Pratia with opening their branch on the territory of Ukraine.
In 2020 I opened Pratia Ukraine as an international division of international site network and Pratia Clinic Ukraine – the first pure independent clinical research site in the country. During the next 2 years I managed to create the Ukrainian sites network within 4 regions, to be the TOP world recruiter in COVID clinical trial and to start first projects in own clinic.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Unfortunately, on the 24th of February 2022 the life of the country and population was stopped and drastically changed by the whole-scale invasion of Russian Federation. The last two years and a half I am focusing on the maintaining of the country operations, finishing on-going clinical trials, transferring of patients to our Polish sites to give them prolonging access to clinical trials.
The current situation in Ukraine revealed the importance of the work that we are doing in our industry when we can give our patients not only access to innovative treatments, but we can give them hope, confidence and believe in their free disease future.
Our industry is not an easy one because we combine the scientific discoveries with clinical practice and our patients trust us with the most important thing – their lives. Thus, we constantly face with different obstacles in our daily practice and especially in the circumstances of war. So we need to care about our patients, medical professionals and research staff as only passing such difficult times together we can actually prove what it means to be humans.
As you know, we’re big fans of Pratia Ukraine. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
Our company provides site management services to Biotech companies and Contract Research Organizations (CROs) on the base of our own clinical research sites or established research units in embedded medical institutions within 6 European countries.
We perform clinical trials in almost all therapeutic areas using own tech-solutions that gives us the possibility for Decentralized clinical trials performance.
