Today we’d like to introduce you to Amanda Rose
Hi Amanda, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I graduated college after doing a 2-year Acting for Film and Television program and a -year creative writing program, in 2008. When I graduated, the biggest recession since the great depression hit, and I was in for a rude awakening. Canadian film production heavily relies on US projects, but in 2008, for the first time in a very long time, the Canadian Dollar was stronger than the US dollar, so they weren’t coming to film up here. There were next-to-no auditions to ever go to. Add to that, businesses in general we’re doing layoffs en masse, not hiring. This A-student, with honors and awards, couldn’t even get a basic minimum-wage retail job.
After about a year, I finally got a job… door-to-door sales. Not exactly the life I’d envisioned for myself. Not by a long shot. I worked this job, and eventually got a minimum-wage retail job as the economy was recovering. Auditions started cropping up, albeit infrequently. In 2010, there was a glimmer of hope. I booked a national commercial and a one-liner on a Canadian comedy. It gave me a glimmer of hope that my dreams weren’t lost.
I ended up working for a company that only hired actors, because they did live in-store sales presentations that were 30 minutes long and required script memorization, presenting skills, and some flare. I loved that job and threw myself fully into it. I was actually great at it too. They promoted me to be a sales trainer for new hires, and I loved that even more. Unfortunately, there was a huge management shift after a while, and it killed that job for me. Add to that, the travel time and work hours were insane, and I wanted to come back to my dreams and live life on my own terms.
I quit, with no plan, in June 2013. I had a few months of savings in my account, and I was getting married in September of that year. I needed to figure my shit out and fast. I was a homebody and wanted to stay at home, but I didn’t have any ideas for a business of my own. I ended up joining a Network Marketing Company that I’d been a customer of for years. It allowed me to use my sales skills without having to come up with something to sell.
Selling online on social media is much different than selling in a store. People go into a store to shop, but they come on social media because they’re bored, or lonely, or want to share something. Learning how to pivot and connect with people in a digital framework was excruciating. My first year I made a whooping $600. Year two, about $2000, year three, about $3500. My growth was painfully slow. I worked my ass off, and I was dedicated to figure it out, no matter how long it took. I knew there was no way in hell I’d ever go to work for anyone else, ever again.
In 2016 my husband came home from work midday and handed me a letter that said he’d been fired. In that moment my blood turned to ice, and a knot formed in my stomach. At the time I was earning about $600-1000 a month, certainly not enough for us to live on. It was as-if time froze and I saw two very clear roads in front of me: on one side, it was the path to figuring out how to file for bankruptcy, and on the other side, it was me finally figuring out my money shit. I chose the second path.
I got my hands on every book on mindset, manifesting, and wealth that I could. I devoured them I embodied them; I applied their action steps no matter how uncomfortable they were. I knew this was my last chance.
Immediately small shifts happened… for the first time since I’d become an entrepreneur suddenly people were reaching out to me inquiring about my products and services. I was getting traction online. I was making sales with much more ease.
Things snowballed, and within 6-months we had manifested over 6-figures; which felt like winning the lottery after spending 10 years under the poverty line. I began to see endless possibilities.
The saying, “Success loves speed,” is true. I finally went after my dream of becoming a published author and at the same time I began teaching the Law of Attraction; my life had been so wholly changed I knew I needed to pay it forward. In 2018 I became a published author, and at that time people began asking me how to publish their own books. Like magic, one opportunity sprung up after another.
In 2019 I founded my corporation, The Infinite Power of You Inc. Since then, I’ve created over 100 successful offers, become a self-made millionaire, an award winning bestselling author of over 20 publications, started a second business with my childhood friend Tony Babcock, and set out on a mission to reshape the coaching industry with Sophie Bee and our radical and rebellious 3-month $30k coaching experience that we sell for a 1-time $75 and a no upsell guarantee.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The biggest obstacles have been the roadblocks in my own mind. Personal development has been paramount to progression and success. My biggest block had been around money, which became clear to me when my husband had lost his job. Mindset work has been the path to overcoming that.
