One of the best things about video games is the ability to restart – you can use your learnings to move faster and avoid obstacles. We often think about what we would do differently if we were starting over in business and we figured others probably think about this as well and so we asked the community to share their thoughts with us.

If I were starting over, I would have trusted my instincts and focused on cultivating my unique talents and passions from the start, instead of following the path my parents envisioned for me—a ‘respectable’ corporate job. Over 20 years ago, I graduated from college and went into the workforce. I spent years trying to climb the corporate ladder within the financial services industry only to be disappointed with each promotion or change of role. What I learned later in life is that as an aspiring entrepreneur, I did not have the mindset of a traditional 9-5 employee. I wanted more but didn’t know what that was or how to get there. So if I had the opportunity today to start over, I would bet on myself and my skillset and jump in head first. If I were to start over, knowing what I know, I would ask for help on simple things.. I’ve been single my entire life, so my mentality is always, me myself and I can handle it! However, I have found that friends want to help… I could have soared so much faster had I not always said, “ I got it”. I e learned the past few years to call upon my friends to help price, clean, etc…such simple tasks take up so much time and mind space when I could have be far more effective with my time in other areas of my sassy boutique.
