One of the best things about video games is the ability to restart – you can use your learnings to move faster and avoid obstacles. We often think about what we would do differently if we were starting over in business and we figured others probably think about this as well and so we asked the community to share their thoughts with us.

If I were to start over today I would network more. I would spend more time in marketing. One thing that many writers do is hone their writing craft, which is absolutely necessary, however if you don’t network and market your work then no one will read it. You must work on getting as many eyes and the right eyes on you and your work. Read more>>

If I had a chance to start over I would definitely put myself out into the community. I grew up very shy and lacked confidence in everything I did. Forcing myself to go out to shows and shoot photos helped me gain confidence along with network skills. Networking definitely was a big key part of my journey. I have been in business for about 6 years and if I were to start all over again, knowing what I know now, I would most definitely structure my business properly first. I grew up in a home when something good happened we’d celebrate with a bash and drink our faces off. When something bad happened we would greave while numbing our pain, momentarily, by drinking or faces off. As I grew a little bit older the drinking off of the faces would go pretty much go hand in hand with any and all activities – dinner, the movies, sporting events, camping, vacations, funerals, weddings, promotions, a long at work day, laid off, etc. Read more>>
