My brother was my hero because he just had a way about him that made people feel important. He could walk into a room full of people and his charm followed him and people would want to know who he was and how they could work with him. He believed in himself so much and never gave up on anything. Whenever there were difficulties, he would find a way around the situation and improve it. He was the business guru of our family, he had tenacity, confidence, and SWAG! Read more>>

My sister was and will always be my hero. Her tenacity, creativity and just pure passion for the culinary arts inspires me every day to keep going. Our culinary obsession probably started in our Nonna’s restaurant kitchen, where we were fed endless plates of angel hair pasta with butter (her choice) and filet mignon (my choice) by our “uncles” from Italy. Surrounded by food and bustling restaurants were in our blood, as we grew and became waitresses for our summer jobs as teenagers. Read more>>

My great grandmother is my hero. She definitely pushed me to go after what I wanted. I’ve always been interested in skincare but was so hesitant on pursuing my career as an esthetician just from hearing “oh Esthetician don’t make as much money” or “what is an esthetician? All you do is facials?” When I’m reality I absolutely love being an esthetician helping other build their confidence and be more comfortable in their own skin. Read more>>

My twin sister Kyara, She inspired me more than I let her know. When it came to a new idea, theme or project, she became the glitter and glue. Make up artist and I the Photographer. I have learned very many lessons from her starting with diplomacy, artists with expansive imaginations can collaborate together to make magic. This was not always easy, since we both had such strong view points but once it flowed it was epic. Read more>>

My personal hero is my mom. As Jewish immigrants from a predominantly Muslim and conservative country of Uzbekistan, women were raised to be soft, subservient and quiet. Not my mama. She is unapologetically fierce, independent and bold. She exemplified from a young age that no matter the circumstance, with unyielding hard work and diligence, no goal is unattainable. Read more>>

My hero’s are definitely my parents and grandparents .. they’re inspire me because I’ve witnessed them overcome so many different situations that the majority of people wouldn’t have overcame. Another hero to me would probably be the late Mac Miller (rest in peace), that’s the first person I’ve seen go from absolutely nothing to a superstar. Me and my best friend Zack would listen to nothing but Blue Slide Park for probably like 2 years straight no joke. Read more>>

My dad is my hero, he taught me almost everything I needed to know about starting and sustaining a business. When I was younger my dad would hire us to work in his construction company as a cleaner and in his bread business as a distributor. My brother and I would drive around town with a truck full of bread to sell to different bread sellers. At first, I was ashamed of the work, but as I grew older I learned to appreciate it. This experience taught me customer service and how to make money. Read more>>

My mom passed away when I was fifteen years old. She’d been living with multiple sclerosis for many years and she was, and remains, my hero. Yet, I don’t know if the word hero defines who she was, for me it’s more of what she represented. She taught me the importance of life and the little things. She gave me the drive I have today to make the best out of everything I’m given and to not take the small things, like walking, being able to cook, and clean for granted. Read more>>

My father is my hero! He passed away when I was 13 years old, but I still think about him so often. He was such a hard worker and had a great sense of humor and silliness! I remember once he drove me to the first day of swim team, but when I got to practice, I didn’t want to get into the pool, so he took me home. He took me back again the following year, and I was very nervous again! He did not tell me what to do, Read more>>

My hero is Steve Jobs because he inspired me to just follow my heart and trust that it would lead me to my passion and purpose. Steve decided to take a calligraphy class which he says was the inspiration for Apple’s beautiful typography, he shared this during a Standford Commencement speech, where he talks about not connecting the dots as to why he decided to take that class until 10 years later. My biggest hero would have to be between 2 people. My dad, and my mother. My father was a writer and started his career at 16, being published for magazines like True Detective and Hustler, and Playboy. He would write mystery or true crime articles for these magazines. Later, after having my sister and I, he wrote and published his first book. It was a huge hit. Since then he had published over 16 books. Read more>>

My hero is my sister. She was the one to motivate me to start a business. She helped me find my talents when I didn’t know I had any. My sister is one of the reasons I want to be successful. I want to be able to repay her for all that she’s done for me. Even though she’s never asked for anything from me, I feel it’s the least I can do to show my appreciation. When I feel like giving up on everything, she helps me to see the bigger picture. I’m forever grateful to have someone like her in my corner. Read more>>

My hero is my Nannaw. She’s been gone for a few years now, but no one taught me more about showing the love of Jesus and serving others like she did. She sacrificed her time, money, and talents to love others well. The things she taught me have been hard-wired into me, and if I can be half of the woman she was, I will have been a success..
