When businesses are covered in the media, often there is a lot of focus on the initial idea, the genesis moment. Then they almost brush over the middle part – the scaling up part – and arrive at how big and awesome the business is today. It makes for a fun read or in the case of a movie or show an entertaining watch, but it’s also a missed opportunity. The middle part – the scaling up part is where so many small business owners get stuck. It’s the part so many of us need more guidance with and so we wanted to get conversations going on the topic of scaling up.

My story of tea and herbs begin in a backroom of a business I started in Indiana. This was an artist consignment store that had a small room in the back. I envisioned loose leaf tea in jars, much like I have now. Back then people only knew teabags and that was not my vision. Why would anyone want to sell an inferior product. Read more>>

I just wrote more than anyone. I published more blog posts, took on more clients, and pumped out more deliverables than anyone I knew. I did this for years on end, not taking days off. I wish there was a sexy story behind it, but I just wrote and wrote and wrote until people started paying attention to me. Read more>>

As I, Janel Nicole, the Founder and CEO of Ambient Digital Media Studios, reached the summit of Stone Mountain in Georgia, I found myself at the pinnacle of both a physical and spiritual journey. There, I harnessed the scenic inspiration to visualize my company’s tremendous growth and success, and I pondered on multiple ways to scale my business to new heights. Read more>>

I couldn’t agree more. Success stories are often condensed into a highlight reel, but the truth is, the journey to where we are today at Ms. Placed Professional Organizing was a path with its fair share of challenges and learning opportunities. First, it needs to be said that we are a small family business and that some would look at our idea of scaling up and ask, “So, when are you going to start?” The goal of growth has not been to impress or grow for growth’s sake but rather to make better use of our precious time as we run our business from our home. We started making beeswax wraps in December of 2018. We were given the idea and the know-how from Micah’s sister. Read more>>

Last time I shared about starting Window Cleaners of Brandon, and my desire to be there for my kids instead of pursuing a traditional fulltime job. I believe there’s a lot of people in similar situations who for whatever reason only want to work 15-25 hours per week, but that doesn’t mean they’re wanting an “entry level” position. The problem with our current job opportunities out there is it’s either 40-60 hours per week where you really need to be fully committed to the job, and let your personal life come 2nd OR you have to settle for a part-time “starter job”. Mansfield Music Fest began as a fundraising event in a field of the drummers back yard for the band to travel to a festival. After a couple years of that style event I got involved heavily and we moved it to small venue in town. It moved around based on availability small bar venues and after I deployed with the Air Force the opportunity to take the event to Snow Trails Ski Resort came up. Read more>>

I believe in complete honesty, transparency and that you can’t fake being genuine. So my main goal in try to show iStroll the way I see it. I try to honestly describe how it changed my life. Social media played a major role in that. I made reels to show that our workouts are tough but anyone of all fitness backgrounds can join us – even pregnant women (assuming you get the clear from the doctor to workout). Read more>>

My husband and I bought our initial MaidPro in May 2018 in Miami, FL. It was an established MaidPro that was up for sale. It was in the neighborhood we lived in and it was the best decision at the time. This is how we began our MaidPro journey. Read more>>
