When I moved to Austin in 2018, I started teaching at two small local studios. As a new yoga teacher in a town that has had a prominent yoga community for 25+ years, it was difficult at first to get accepted into the larger studios in town. Being a new teacher definitely has its pros and cons: all you want to do is pour your heart and energy into your classes, but half the time nobody showed up to practice. My passion for health & fitness initially ignited after my Dad received a scary diagnosis when I was a senior in college. It hit home for me and it was a total “light switch” moment; realizing that we have one body we all get to call home and we just have to take care of it!
