My journey in behavioral health began unexpectedly as a Parent Aide. Initially, I was open to any role within the field, eager to gain experience and knowledge. A friend’s similar position sparked my interest, and I decided to take the leap.
The interview process was surprisingly smooth, and I was fortunate to land the job. Looking back, this role proved to be a valuable stepping stone. It provided me with a solid foundation in the field, exposing me to various aspects of behavioral health. My journey into the field of dentistry began when I was 17 years old, working as a receptionist at a dental office. It all started because the owner of the practice was a family friend who offered me the opportunity to help out after school and during holiday breaks. I made $8.25 an hour, answering phones, checking in patients, verifying insurances, and even calling on outstanding claims.
