I wanted my business name to really represent me and what I do, without naming the business after myself. I am a true daydreamer — I am constantly daydreaming about what I could do or how I could do something new or better. The word “rêverie” is a French term meaning: a state of being pleasantly lost in one’s thoughts; a daydream. Only fitting, right? Thus, rêverie events by Jessica Reneé was born with a dream catcher icon as our logo–because *we* are the dream catchers to make our client’s daydream wedding or event a reality. Read more>>

Though I was born in Southern CA, my birth parents divorced when I was 6 mo old and we moved to Georgia. Through many moves throughout GA and even a quick season in Louisiana then back to Georgia, I actually planned a little escape back to California the summer before I entered into high school to never return! I did get convinced to return for 1 semester my sophomore year to quickly remember why I left in the first place! So my business name stems from my story….from Georgia Peaches to California Poppies…..Peaches to Poppies! Read more>>

Taking it back to the days when we first started dating. Young love with the world as our canvas. As 17 year old high schoolers we had the dream of creating a magazine of travel and all the stoke that the open road had to offer. That’s where the name Astray was born, a lust for freedom and the idea of navigating off the beaten path. A few years later and no magazine we fell into the wedding industry and the name was put to use. Read more>>

I had a harder time naming my SaaS business than I did naming my daughter. My little girl may be one of a kind, but her name is not. A business on the other hand – particularly an internet business – needs a monopoly on its name. There’s no point dreaming up the perfect brand name if the trademark or domain name are unavailable, so when brainstorming business names I had Godaddy open on one browser tab and the USPTO website open in another. I originally began my business with a different name for my jewelry line when I first began designing jewelry. I changed the business name to LEEBA in 2014. Since my family is spread out across the country we decided to meet in Sedona to celebrate my mother’s birthday in 2014. While on a jeep tour amidst the red rocks, thinking of and discussing our family history, it hit me! The name of the company had to be changed to LEEBA to honor my grandmother on my mother’s side. When I was thinking about naming my business, I didn’t seem to like anything I picked. Nothing really worke or it just sounded bland. It took a few months to finally land on what it is today. My business started as a side project that required me to work late at night. At that time I had a full time job and 3 kids to look after. Working late at night seemed to be the only way I could get things done without distraction. Then late one night after finishing some lab work, I looked at my watch and it had just hit midnight. It was like a light went off in my head. That’s it! Midnight Mushroom Co was born. Read more>>

MACABRE was always burned in my brain from a very young age. I think there was something oddly interesting in the word and when it was used. I’d watch very dark movies and listen to heavy music when I was growing up and that kind of aesthetic has still stuck with me even to this day. So when I decided on choosing a name for a brand that would fit my interests, it just made sense. I feel most people would look at me or what I was into like I was a weird kid, I was never the popular guy. Read more>>

I love when clients have the “a-ha” moment on the correlation between my name and my business name. Keymia = Key2MIA My godmother named me, but my mom named my business. When I was considering creating the solution to common questions that arose from friends/family visiting Miami, I decided that I wanted to create custom experiences and allow them to “live like a local” when they came. In fact, Like A Local was the original name I had in mind. It wasn’t until my mom said that I would be the “key to Miami” that it all clicked! That conversation was the spark needed to ignite my business. Read more>>

One question I get asked a lot is why I called the company Lisbeth Joe as there is no obvious connection with minimalist shoes. My mother’s name was Elizabeth Joe. She was a strong but generous woman, who overcame many challenges and disadvantages yet always triumphed through love and giving. She inspired me to follow her example in many ways, her amazing fashion sense and desire to help others being particularly admirable qualities. I dedicate my business to her memory, memorializing her in the joy and comfort people feel when they wear Lisbeth Joe shoes. Read more>>

It’s a song from a Mexican band. It was more about the moment when I was listening to this song. I was going through a very rough time in my life, it was early morning, I was driving and this song came up, I saw the name of the song, the sunrise, the weather felt amazing. The song starts in a very soft way with a clear and strong clave sound. All of that together made me pay attention to the lyrics, it talks about a place where love, passion for music and dancing came together. The name of this place is Kumbala. My first thought was: “If I ever have my own dance studio, I would name it like that, Kumbala”. Read more>>

My company’s name is Saturnblu Productions. The name came from the planet Saturn, which is the ruling planet of Capricorn (my astrological sign). I did drive a blue Saturn car at one point but that had nothing to do with the name. Blue is my favorite color so I added that onto the end and took off the “E” to shorten just a bit. Read more>>
