Hi Sophie Jo, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
SJ PERCEPTIONS is a New York based creative studio offering bespoke services to brands. Our philosophy is results driven and emphasizes aesthetic, minimalist design. SJ PERCEPTIONS blends strategy and innovation to meet the unique goals of our partners.

Founder and Lead Creative Sophie Jo Ferro started SJ PERCEPTIONS in 2020 to satisfy her inclination towards creativity and entrepreneurial ambition. What began as a hobby has blossomed into a full-service creative enterprise serving companies and individuals from different parts of the world. Sophie’s personal appreciation for the principles of modern minimalism reveals itself in her creative direction for brands like Wellbel and Hello Klean, while her acute understanding of new media audiences shines through in her work for Femme Farmacy and Martinis & Bikinis. At the core of SJ PERCEPTIONS lies an unending desire to create for and collaborate with like-minded people and organizations.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
While my journey with SJ PERCEPTIONS has been fulfilling, it hasn’t been without its challenges. Like any entrepreneurial pursuit, building a creative studio from the ground up requires resilience, perseverance, and the ability to navigate obstacles along the way.

Leaving a stable role as Creative Director for a notable brand to build my own creative studio required courage. It meant embracing uncertainty, financial risks, and defying conventional career paths. My decision to pursue entrepreneurship is a testament to my determination to carve my own path in the creative industry, and more importantly, in life.

I heard a quote the other day that really resonated with me, it said, “The secret of happiness is freedom. The secret of freedom is courage.”

We’ve been impressed with SJ PERCEPTIONS, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
At SJ PERCEPTIONS, we specialize in branding, creative direction, and graphic design services. Our focus on minimalist design combined with strategic innovation sets us apart. We pride ourselves on collaborating closely with clients to ensure our work aligns with their brand values and objectives. Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
Finding joy in the little things in life brings me true happiness. Whether it’s enjoying a super long meal with family and friends, exploring hidden gems in small towns, or taking the time to create art, these experiences inspire me on a day-to-day basis and fuel my creativity.

From a business standpoint, being able to create and bring someone’s vision to life brings me such fulfillment. There’s a unique satisfaction in seeing ideas take shape and come to fruition. The ability to actualize ideas fuels my passion and drives me to pursue my creative endeavors with enthusiasm.
