Today we’d like to introduce you to Rich Gomez
Hi Rich, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I got married at 19, already in debt with two credit cards and a car payment. Despite working two jobs, I stayed in poverty but kept buying expensive things on credit. After my divorce, I bought even more things, including a sports car and a Harley, which left me with little money for essentials, often relying on friends to cover costs.
When I started dating my current wife, I was still deeply in debt and used her credit for purchases, which strained our relationship. We constantly fought about money, and the stress was overwhelming. Eventually, I decided to educate myself by reading books about money, starting with Rich Dad Poor Dad. Through these books, I learned the principles of managing money and how the wealthy operate, things that schools and my parents never taught me. I realized anyone can become wealthy if they follow the right principles.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
My inability to manage money created unbearable tension. Trying to learn as much as I could by just reading everything I could led me to make a couple of mistakes until I was able to finally get a hold of the process. During that time there was a lot of struggles just trying to manage the little bit that I was making and trying to involve my wife.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
I am an author and public speaker who helps individuals and organizations develop an understanding on being a good steward by managing their money. With over a decade of trying to break the code and reading hundreds of books on money and finances, I have taken everything I have learned, applied it, and matched it with the Bible. I have taught multiple church groups, schools and individuals, giving them the tools to have a solid financial IQ and becoming financially free.
What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
Everything and anything can be learned it just takes some dedication and consistency. Nothing is easy, if it was everyone would do it.
