Laronda Sullivan embarked on her journey as an esthetician driven by a passion to redefine beauty standards. Encountering misconceptions about natural beauty in the media, she was inspired to create Coco’s Beauties, LLC, a platform dedicated to educating clients on proper skincare techniques and treatments. Motivated by her own experiences, Laronda aimed to empower individuals of all ages and skin types to embrace their uniqueness. Through services like chemical peels, dermaplaning, DPN treatment, and more, she established a safe haven that celebrates diversity and individual beauty. Laronda’s commitment to empowering others has not only earned her a stellar reputation in the Bay Area but has also fueled unprecedented growth and acclaim for her professionalism, innovation, and exceptional service delivery.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Nothing worth working for is smooth; life happens. While pursuing my passion as an esthetician and building Coco’s Beauties, LLC, I’ve faced my share of challenges. As a mother of four, my children are my main priority, and sometimes, I’ve had to pause my work to attend to their needs. Additionally, I’ve navigated my own mental health issues, learning to reclaim my life to continue walking in my purpose. Transitioning from a 9-to-5 job to focusing on my business full-time was a significant step, requiring adjustment and perseverance. Despite the obstacles, every challenge has reinforced my dedication to empowering others and driven me to push forward.
As you know, we’re big fans of Coco’s Beauties . For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
My business, Coco’s Beauties, LLC, offers a range of services tailored to enhance beauty and promote wellness. From hair removal services like waxing and sugaring to skincare treatments, Vajacials, Yoni care (including yoni steams), and full-body detox in a dry sauna, I provide holistic care for my clients. What sets me apart is my commitment to helping people feel beautiful inside and out. While many focus solely on external beauty, I believe true beauty starts from within. That’s why my goal is not just to provide quality services but to ensure that every client leaves feeling better mentally, emotionally, and physically.
I take pride in the fact that I started my business during the pandemic and have continued to grow despite the challenges. My journey has not been easy, but through it, I’ve discovered my purpose and reclaimed my life. Now, I face challenges with a positive outlook and am happier than ever. Additionally, I’m excited to embark on a new business adventure as a positive elevation mentor, offering mentorship programs to inspire and uplift others. Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
What makes me happy is walking in my purpose and helping people discover the beauty that lies deep within them. Society often distorts our perceptions of ourselves, making it difficult for people to see their true selves and live authentically. Being able to assist someone in transforming their mindset and embracing a happier, more authentic life truly warms my heart. There’s immense joy in witnessing others unlock their potential and find happiness from within.
