Today we’d like to introduce you to Jessica Jeffries.
Hi Jessica, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Meet Jessii Marie; the visionary artist behind Imprinted by Jessii. Her life is a testament of faith, artistic passion and resilience. Known for her uplifting and encouraging spirit, Jessii credits God as the source of who she is, her gifts, strength and creativity. Her journey is a powerful reflection of one’s ability to overcome, create, and inspire as she is fueled by unwavering faith and purpose.
A proud Pittsburgh native, Jessii discovered art as her sanctuary as she found solace and strength in her art from an early age. Her work may be described as a captivating blend of fiction and reality while it serves as a powerful medium for her to convey the depths of her life experiences – the blessings, trials, tribulations, and everything in between. One may call this surrealism.
Jessii has not only used art for her own healing, however, she has also dedicated herself to uplifting and educating the next generation of artists. Her commitment to the community is truly encouraging, as she shares over a decade of expertise through painting classes, candle making, poetry, community events, and more.
Jessii’s exceptional work, remarkable talents and dedication have earned her recognition from prestigious organizations: including the Mayor of Pittsburgh’s office, the Pittsburgh Artist Crawl, and various publications. Her true legacy extends far beyond these accolades as it is the indelible imprint she hopes to leave on the world, one brushstroke at a time.
Imprinted by Jessii is more than just a business—it’s a movement, a brand and a lifestyle. It stands as a powerful testament as to how art can heal, inspire, and transform lives. Join her on this inspiring journey, to discover the artist who’s leaving her imprint and changing lives, one masterpiece at a time.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Some may not understand, but I would say life has been the biggest obstacle on this journey. Though the road hasn’t always been smooth, the struggles have shaped me into the woman I am both personally and professionally. In the beginning, one of the most challenging experiences was finding my voice, my lane and creating my brand.
An obstacle I feel many businesses overlook is that personal struggles are a part of the professional journey: balancing personal expression with the desire to be accepted in a competitive art world (not mention the business side of things) can be a cascade to juggle. Of course there will be moments of self-doubt, especially when faced with criticism or when opportunities may not arise as quickly as one may hope for. Sometimes you need to take time for family, to heal your inner child, etc. so that your business can flourish as God see’s fit. Building a brand takes time, effort, and sacrifice and It’s not easy to turn art into a sustainable career, though you must not lose focus.
There are moments where I question my direction, and times when I felt exhausted; but through it all; my passion for art and the support I receive pushes me moving forward. I have learned to embrace the challenges as a part of the growth process, and by doing so, each obstacle became a steppingstone that strengthened my resolve and deepened my purpose. Now, I see those struggles as an essential piece to the success and meaning of my work. They’re apart of the story I imprint.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Our mission is to: “Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God” (Ephesians 6:17) To evoke positivity and to create a safe space where peace, passion, and purpose intersect. We are dedicated to not only providing a sanctuary that promotes healing but provides a room for one to connect with their inner artist. While rooted in faith, we believe in the transformative power of art as a direct reflection of the omnipotent, omniscience, and omnipresence of God as he created us in his image. Not only do we strive to inspire innovation, foster community, and empower others to make lasting impacts by leaving their own unique imprint on the world, but we influence the importance of connecting with God’s purpose for our lives too.
Before we let you go, we’ve got to ask if you have any advice for those who are just starting out?
My advice for those just starting out:
1. Put God first, don’t lose sight of your “why,” and give yourself grace along the way. It may feel like the goal post keeps moving but (that’s normal) just make sure you don’t lose sight of it!
2. Remember, “Rome wasn’t built in a day,” but, at the same time acknowledge when you’re making excuses or procrastinating. Take accountability by putting things in place to keep moving forward and avoid stalling.
3. Discover your Identity, unlock your voice, stay your lane, and own them all. (Don’t forget—closed mouths don’t get fed) Ask for help when you need it; even if you face the fear of rejection. Eventually, someone will say yes.
4. Lastly, all the obstacles you face will be your steppingstones towards your success. Oh, and post that content you’re afraid to share—it just might be the post that goes viral!
