Today we’d like to introduce you to Erin Davies

Hi Erin, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?

I spent the bulk of my career to date working as an event planner for really high end agencies. I had great opportunities to plan celebrity and multi-million dollar affairs. When Covid put everyone in the hospitality on hold, I used the temporary pause to really get going on an idea I’d been noodling on for some time. When it comes to planning a wedding, it became clear to me that couples had the choice for either full service wedding planners (which are cost-prohibitive for many), or just day-of/month-of coordinators. I felt like there was something missing. So many couples, even those willing to do much of the leg work themselves, need the most wedding help in the BEGINNING of their planning process, and someone to hold their hand throughout. So I launched my own business- wedding CONSULTING- the opportunity to offer a blue print and an accountability coach in your corner for couples with premium taste in need of accessible assistance.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?

Certainly not! Starting a business in hospitality during a time when there were so many restrictions around mass gatherings was the first challenge. But I had to have faith that if i laid the groundwork, I’d be ready to rock when the industry bounced back- which it definitely did….BIG TIME!

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?

Erin Davies Consultancy is a boutique wedding planning consulting agency. The goal is to get to know EVERYTHING about my clients- their goals, their vision, their priorities, their preferences, their budget, their family, etc. etc. From there, we create the blueprint for planning the wadding: the monthly task list, the target budget, the day of timeline, etc. And then I hold their hand to tackle the entire thing….and hopefully make it fun along the way. I am so proud that I’ve created a model that can provide a cost-effective wedding planning solution for couples and that I haven’t lost the focus on the personal relationships (my most favorite part of the process!) along the way.

How do you define success?

Success is feeling fulfilled by the work you do. Even when there is too much of it. Even when there aren’t enough hours in the day. And feeling proud of the product you deliver.
