Today we’d like to introduce you to Eli Verano
Hi Eli, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
For over a decade, I balanced two worlds: working as a lead marketer in the IT industry and pursuing my passion as an independent artist. My corporate career provided stability and funded my creative projects, but music often took a backseat. At one point, I realized I wanted to transform my music from a project requiring constant investment into a fulfilling and financially sustainable career.
Since then, I’ve explored many opportunities that brought both joy and income—writing and selling songs, recording and editing vocals for other artists, producing tracks, and more. At the same time, I continued to release and promote my own music. Soon, artists and startups began seeking my advice on release strategies, song promotion, and music marketing.
Seeing how this mix of marketing and music skills resonated with others and felt right for me, I decided to create WONDRWORK, a creative music agency where my team and I support artists with everything from music production and mixing to song promotion and release management. It’s incredibly rewarding to help others thrive in the industry while continuing to grow my own career.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Building a career in the creative industries is rarely a smooth road. It’s a path that requires a huge amount of your time and energy. As a musician, you’re always working to grow your skills, practicing your craft, while also developing your network, brand, social media presence, marketing, exploring new ways to monetize your work, teaching, learning, and more.
I like to compare the journey of an independent artist or music creator to that of an IT startup founder. You invest your time, energy, and money, and sometimes it feels like no one believes in it but you. Many efforts can feel like they’re going nowhere, but with persistence and hard work, it’s possible to turn this passion into a sustainable business.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
WONDRWORK is a creative music agency that helps indie artists, labels, and music tech companies release their products into the market, whether it’s a new song or an IT service. We specialize in three main areas: music, marketing, and coaching. Our services include music production, song promotion, PR coverage, social media marketing, brand development, strategy, and more.
We’re proud to be an international team and work as one. We work with clients and partners across the globe, from Europe to Latin America. Some of our latest projects include a collaboration with Korda, a UK-based music startup, and a PR campaign for Stas, a Chilenian electronic music producer based in Miami.
Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
Most people still don’t know that before diving fully into the music industry, I spent years working in marketing for tech companies. It’s not the most obvious path to becoming a music-focused entrepreneur, but it actually gave me a unique edge. I learned how to think strategically, analyze data, and build brands from the ground up. These skills translate directly into what I do now at WONDRWORK — helping artists and brands grow, market, and succeed in a competitive space. It’s a mix of creativity and a business approach that people don’t usually expect from someone in the music world.
