Today we’d like to introduce you to Dana Cannon – Bryson
Dana, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
In 2010, while I was deep into my graduate studies, I found myself working side-by-side with my brother, whose entrepreneurial spirit had always been a beacon lighting the way. My brother’s foray into the business world wasn’t just impressive; it was transformative—for both himself and for everyone around him. Watching him navigate the complexities of running a business ignited a spark within me, compelling me to dream beyond the conventional confines of a 9-to-5 job.
Observing my brother’s growth and success over the years was nothing short of inspiring. He wasn’t just building a business; he was constructing a testament to resilience, creativity, and strategic thinking. I’ll never forget the evenings spent in his office talking about strategy and vision. These moments were pivotal and they slowly chipped away my doubts and sculpted a belief in my own abilities and potential.
By 2017, the decision to start my own company was no longer just a distant dream; it was an impending reality. The process wasn’t easy, but the confidence from working with my brother provided a solid foundation. I had witnessed firsthand the intricacies of establishing a brand, building client relationships, and managing operations. This insider view, coupled with access to his vast network, gave me a head start in the industry.
Starting my company was both exhilarating and daunting. The advantages of having a robust network and an entrepreneurial mentor were immense, but so were the challenges. I had to carve my own identity and prove my worth independently.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Being an entrepreneur has not been a smooth road by any means.
For years, I barely made $20k annually, but for me, it was just enough to keep going. I faced significant challenges in building a team, financing my projects, and battling imposter syndrome, which has and still does, in many ways, paralyze me from going after new ventures.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
