Today we’d like to introduce you to Claire Click
Hi Claire, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I was a healthcare worker during the pandemic, and a work from home job sounded like a DREAM. I began to investigate freelancing at that point. I have a Communications degree, but I never used it much – until I discovered what it meant to be a Virtual Assistant. It was the perfect way to take my education, customer service, and PR experience and bring it into the age of platforms like social media and email marketing.
Along the way, I discovered VA’s can do even more, and leaned into my organizational skills (or, my Virgo nature, if you’re an astrology person!) to help clients with admin tasks like Inbox and Calendar management as well.
Working for myself has allowed me to travel, see my friends and family more, and even to be home more with my pets. It has truly changed my life in the best way and I never take that for granted. I’m always thinking about my clients and how we can further improve their processes and the ways in which I help them.
I have helped a diverse list of clients that includes a restaurant, tattoo artist, brand VP, therapy office, and mediation attorney – among others. I love working with all types of overwhelmed humans, taking virtual tasks off their plate so they can focus on the more exciting parts of their adventures. The things they truly enjoy!
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I am a sole proprietor, and freelancing can be a nerve wracking road to travel. Losing clients (and they income they provide) is a natural part of the process as both my and their businesses progress, but it isn’t ever easy and can lead to some really imposter syndrome-y feelings. I try to combat this by really leaning into the extra time provided to work on my own business, content, and growth.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Claire Click VA?
There are a LOT of different types of Virtual Assistants, and many have a niche or specialty. I’ve chosen not to narrow my niche and instead help as many clients as I can, and it has allowed me to meet so many cool people, and learn so much!
I’ve found that, regardless of what niche a specific client works in, I can almost always apply what I’ve learned from them in a way that will help another client (even if their industry is very different!) This sets me apart as it allows me to ALWAYS be learning and growing. I will never be in a rut when it comes to growing my skills – I don’t have time to be!
Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
Of course, Ai is the big thing everyone is concerned about in my industry. However, I’m not too worried. I’ve taken steps to be sure to understand and stay on top of Ai as it improves – like learning prompts and investigating how to best use things like Chat GPT to increase my productivity.
Ai will not replace Virtual Assistants, but the ability to USE Ai will be something that sets a good VA apart from a less skilled one!
