Today we’d like to introduce you to Cait Fitzpatrick & Casey Carroll.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Casey and Cait first met in 2016 working in San Francisco, California at a global communications agency. They instantly had a mutual respect for one another, and appreciated each other’s positivity, approach, and creative spirits. Their paths crossed a few times working on new business projects. Cait was also very interested in Casey’s coaching business that she had started to build (the foundation for current day BWB).
After they both left the agency in 2017, they reunited to work on a few projects together. Their first collaborative project was to build a new brand for an organization built to support executive assistants. They brought their strengths in coaching, market research, strategy and design to this project. After its successful launch, they decided to officially partner together, and fold their businesses together and partner in BWB.
They’ve grown BWB since then to be a holistic branding agency to support entrepreneurs and small businesses with a transformational approach to business and brand development. We support our clients to help turn their ideas into realities. We often say “We brand potential. Let’s realize it” as that is our strategic approach and mission with our clients.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Building and running a business has been one of the most exciting and rewarding roads. The road has not been “easy,” or without evolutions, but it is exciting and always changing which we have welcomed.
There are always ebb and flows which can present unique challenges, especially as the world and economy changes. For example, when COVID hit, we had to rethink our approach to business growth and make sure we were meeting our clients where they were during this time. For BWB, this looked like moving our in-person connections and collaborations to digital forums, and offering support groups for folks that were struggling.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
BWB is a holistic creative agency for those with a little revolution in their hearts (aka people that want to do business differently). We help our clients unpack ideas and understand the potential of their ideas, and take them from ideation phase to businesses that can support their values, beliefs, and lives.
Whether preparing to launch a brand or helping established businesses looking to grow and evolve, our team of creatives, artists, storytellers, and strategists help entrepreneurs and small businesses grow in their desired areas. BWB packages include strategy, branding, coaching, and brand expression (e.g. websites, content creation, graphic design, etc). We offer coaching, workshops, and retreats to help our clients turn aligned vision into action.
We take to heart the power that our stories and design have to shape culture and impact real lives, and are committed to having a creative voice with perspectives from a wide range of identities. We also acknowledge how branding, marketing, and personal development often center and reproduce harmful dominant systems, ideologies and oppressive norms. This is one of the main reasons we started BWB and what we are most proud of as a business.
There have been, and continue to be many great teachers who inform our principles and practices. Some have modeled exactly what we don’t stand for, and others are the guiding light as we navigate becoming who we need to become. BWB is committed to doing things differently.

Before we go, is there anything else you can share with us?
BWB believes that storytelling, and telling our stories, is at the heart of brand building and reaching new audiences, and does not have to prioritize social media. We focus on community building over content creation and relationships over results alone.
This is very different from what we’ve seen in the marketplace from other brand building/marketing agencies, and truly differentiates us. We offer ongoing workshops for entrepreneurs who have a lot to gain from simple, efficient, and effective storytelling.
During these workshops, we focus on identifying misalignments in our communications, untangling the seemingly endless sea of platforms, and getting targeted with our efforts, messaging, and storytelling. We dive into the science and substance of our words, and budget-friendly ways to get discovered and reach new audiences.
