Recently, I was asked to do a group hypnosis at a conference in New Orleans. It was my first in-person group hypnosis, so naturally, I was slightly nervous. I wanted to deliver an exceptional and transformative experience for each individual there, and that is no easy feat when each person has their own unique circumstances and challenges. I decided to focus on self-love because I knew that is something that we all can use more of. Read more>>

As a plastic surgeon I am honored to have people trust me with their appearance. In contrast to other areas of medicine and surgery, the results of what I do are clearly evident. Whether it’s a rhinoplasty, mommy makeover, or correcting something about one’s appearance that causes them apprehension, improving their appearance gives them the self confidence to pursue their dreams. I would like to share the story of my logo for my business. There are people who influence our lives and deeply change us for the better. One of those people was my aunt Minerva. Energetic, rambunctious, and always getting into trouble. And when we got into trouble, we lied about it. Read more>>

In my time as an adaptive yoga teacher, specifically in the world of people living with traumatic brain injuries, I have seen countless stories of resiliency, inspiration, hope and deep acceptance for what is. I have learned so much from each student who has endured a tragic event that changed the entire trajectory of their life. The majority of students I am blessed to work with explain to me that prior to the event that happened, they were living a life completely unaware of gratitude or the gift each day is. Following the event they now see that each and every day is a blessing and most have shifted their priorities from a life of material gain to one of gratitude and living for each moment. I have witnessed some of the most gut-wrenching stories retold of the loss they have had and how they have continued to find a reason to not just live, but to make a difference in the lives of others. I often say that I am not the teacher as they give me so much more than I imagine I give them. Read more>>

When I was 11 years old in the spring of 1962, my mother and I went to a department store near downtown Atlanta. When we went into the store that day my mother went off to do her shopping and I found myself naturally walking toward the toy department. I had no idea, but I was about to fall in love for the first time as an 11 year old… in front of my eyes, there appeared a magical bicycle called a Schwinn Tiger. It was love at first sight… I ran my hand over the handlebars and over the seat, and immediately began to try and figure out how I could make this bike mine! Read more>>
