We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Gregg DaCosta. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Gregg below.
Gregg, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today We’d love to hear about a project that you’ve worked on that’s meant a lot to you.
The most meaningful project that I’ve worked on will be releasing later this year called, “Guilty Conscience”. It’s a psychological horror/Thriller feature film that will be released on multiple streaming platforms. The film is about a man who doesn’t seem to have a grip on reality, but is guided by his therapist and fiancé to the truth. This film goes into so many topics with mental health, like depression, PTSD, to other important issues in the world like gun safety, During the production of this a tragic incident happened to my family that was extremely similar to what happens in the film where we felt it was just a little too close to home. Sometimes as writers our writing can be a powerful tool, when we can imagine and create stories that aren’t real, but hits differently when those same things you write comes to life in an unfortunate way that’ll bond you with the characters forever.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
I’m a filmmaker, director, producer, screenwriter to be exact. Filmmaking is my life, I offer my service to anyone who has an idea for film, but just don’t know which direction to go. I’ll help you create that idea into an actual vision where you and everyone else can see it. I believe if you thought of it, and put the work in to create it, you should want to show it to the world. I remember creating my first script at a young age, I was so nervous that I kept it to myself for years. Then I realized there’s no way I can show the world my vision if I keep it locked away from the world. Once I started to tell people about the script, they each began to love it, so I took it further and created films. This time I sent it into film festivals where they won many film festivals and also aired on television nationwide. When I created Gregg DaCosta Studios, it wasn’t just to create my own films, it was to help creatives all over and I’ll continue doing that until the world can see the true vision, which is we’re nobody until you can help somebody then that person can take what you taught them to help somebody else. Have to keep the cycle going.
Is there mission driving your creative journey?
One of my biggest goal in filmmaking is to get the first script I’ve ever done to life. Reason being is because that is one of the biggest scripts I wrote and it’s my beginning as a writer. Now another reason that’s so important to me is because it shows that I started something when I was a kid and never gave up on my dreams. So when you see the two letters “T-Z” air on your television screen just know that Gregg DaCosta accomplished one of his biggest goals. The next goal is make sure that people can see the vision and understand that if you put the time in to any craft no matter the field you can be what ever you want.

What can society do to ensure an environment that’s helpful to artists and creatives?
I feel as a filmmaker we need more supporters than followers. When we’re on social media we’re all subject to bypass people who are creatives and not show love, but showing love is free.. I was raised if you show love you usually get that love back. Take the time to show love to your fellow creatives out there, I’m sure you’ll start to get that love back once they notice you always showing up for them.
