Stacey, so thrilled to have you joining us again, this time to talk all about products and so let’s jump right in. Please give our audience some background on the product side.
Olive Wood Moon Phase Earrings
These earrings are handcrafted from scrap olive wood that I get while I’m in Croatia. I live on the island of Hvar half of the year and olive trees are part of the natural landscape there. Every year people harvest the olives and prune back the trees and have a lot of leftover wood. These are unique and special because no two pairs look exactly the same because of the dynamic markings on the olive wood. I call them moon phase because the solid circle followed by 2 1/2 circles reminds me of the phases of the moon. I handcrafted all of my jewelry in my studio in Philadelphia. I’m a tiny business – woman owned..
What’s been the most exciting part of the journey of taking this product from idea to real life?
I love starting from scrap wood and deciding what shape it’s going to take. I primarily work with olive and oak because that’s the wood that I have available to me at the moment I do look forward to expanding into other species. I like that I don’t really use a pattern. Each piece is slightly different and may I say imperfect. I like the variety and the non-cookie cutter process of it all.
How do most people hear about your product?
So far my marketing is Instagram, Facebook Pinterest pop-up shops in Philadelphia and word-of-mouth. I have an amazing group of friends that is super supportive. They buy my items to wear. They purchased as gifts and they help spread the word. I couldn’t do this without them..
What are you most thankful for?
I alluded to this my last answer, but I am most grateful for my friends. They are my support system, my cheerleaders, my marketing squad, and they’re just the best people you could ever ask for.
