Cindy, thanks for joining us again. We’re so excited to have a product focused conversation today. Can you bring our readers up to speed on the product side?
Brilliant Detroit announced our national expansion earlier this year under the moniker Brilliant Cities. As part of this expansion, we have also revamped our branding including an updated color scheme, logo, and tagline. This holiday season, we are excited to now offer Brilliant Cities branded merchandise. Available in a variety of colors and as a T shirt, hoodie, crew neck, or tote bag, these offerings can complete any outfit.
What better way to support the growth of our mission than by sporting one of these appealing new items?
Can you walk us through the onboarding process for a new client?
Brilliant Detroit focuses on supporting families with childnre ages 0-8 in the areas of health, education, and family support. Our work is centered in neighborhoods around the city and we often welcome new participating families throughout the year. Critical to our onboarding process is listening — we want to hear from families what they need most, but also what their dreams are. Our staff then suggest various program offerings to that family based on what they hear during the intake process. Once a part of the “Brilliant Detroit family,” parents and children are welcome to attend our free programming and enjoy the fellowship and resources offered at each of our locations.
If you had to boil your product or brand down to one core message – what would that message be?
Based on the wisdom of one of our longtime staff members, Migdalia Price, we came up with the adage, “It takes creating an atmosphere of love and safety, where people feel truly seen and cared for, before people can grow.” This mesage guides our work everyday, from how we set up our neighborhood hubs to deciding to enter a new partnership agreement.
What are you most thankful for?
We are most thankful for our Brilliant Detroit family, which to us incorporates our partners, our supporters, our participants, and our volunteers. It is so heartwarming to see so many people stand up for Kids Success. We are grateful to be a part of a network of collaboration where all seek to create a better world and show how they can be brilliant togeher.
