For some, family businesses mean spending more quality time with their families, financial freedom and so much more while for others it feels like a prison sentence. There are so many pros and cons, positives and negatives and so we wanted to create a space for folks who have experiences with family businesses to discuss the pros and cons.

Doing business with a family member can be tricky. I have done business with family members in the past; most of the business dealings did not work out, and I think being related was a major reason why the business was not successful. While working with your partner can be difficult at times, it is also super fulfilling knowing that we have built our business together for our future family. We have been working together in some form or fashion for the better part of 25 years. Our co-working journey began at a Kinko’s on St. Charles Avenue in New Orleans, where we not only worked together but also lived together in a small studio apartment. During that first year, we spent almost 24 hours a day, seven days a week together.
