Today we’d like to introduce you to Sarah Gibson

Hi Sarah, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?

I initially got into the beauty industry to be a makeup artist for theatre and film, but part way through esthetics school, I found I LOVED doing facials and shaping brows. After working at a local shop for a few years, I decided to go out on my own and open my own business. I just celebrated 10 years!

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?

3 years into business, I decided to close up shop and move 3 hours away. Even though this job is something you can do anywhere, you can’t take your client base with you. It was a real mental struggle, to go from being booked 8 weeks out, to starting over completely from scratch and having zero clients. It took a lot of faith and a lot of work. It really started to gain momentum in 2018/2019…and then 2020 hit. Talk about another level of faith, and another level of hard work!

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?

Renewal Beauty is a holistic facial studio that focuses solely on skincare and eyebrows. Eyebrow shaping is truly an art form, and there is so much more to it than just removing hair. It changes your entire face, for better or worse! All facial treatments are focused on helping women achieve healthy skin, with no trauma to the skin and no downtime, so they can go about their lives without having to hide away because of aggressive skin treatments.

What makes you happy?

Ah, being barefoot in my garden on a Saturday morning, with a cup of tea and my dogs, is peak happiness for me! It makes me feel so centered and grounded, to be outside, growing things.
