Today we’d like to introduce you to Sadia
Hi Sadia, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
For years, I’ve built my career in Human Resources, culminating in my Senior Executive Human Resources Business Partner role. While this position allowed me to optimize processes and champion diversity, equity, and inclusion, a pivotal moment came after October 7, when I realized the company I worked for wasn’t willing to take a stand for Palestine. That experience pushed me to reflect on what’s next and what truly aligns with my values.
During this time, I had already been running SadiaSaidSo, a blog created as a one-stop guide for Muslim women navigating professional settings and the business world. What started as a passion project has grown into something much larger. Now, I work directly with Muslim organizations and women 1-on-1, facilitating HR and DEI workshops and offering career development coaching. My mission is to empower Muslim women to thrive professionally while staying rooted in their values.
Currently, I’m focused on building a community for Muslim women in New York and New Jersey—a space where we can not only learn valuable skills together but also foster a deep sense of ukhuwah (sisterhood). It’s about creating opportunities for growth, connection, and collaboration while supporting one another in our personal and professional journeys.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Taking a risk on yourself is never easy, and starting your own business comes with its challenges. For me, it was essential because I saw a gap that had been overlooked for too long—creating a space where Muslim women could navigate professional settings with confidence while honoring their values. The journey wasn’t without struggles, from balancing personal responsibilities to overcoming societal biases. However, these challenges became opportunities to learn and grow, equipping me with the tools to make the road easier for others. Today, those lessons are the foundation of SadiaSaidSo and the work I do to empower women and organizations.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Sadia Said So is where empowerment fuels transformation. This platform is dedicated to empowering Muslim women
and organizations to confidently navigate professional settings while embracing their values. Focused on creating impactful
programs for organizations, fostering inclusivity, and building meaningful connections within communities, the goal is to elevate careers, strengthen businesses, and cultivate a sisterhood (ukhuwah) for a thriving future.
Sadia Said So provides a range of services tailored for individuals and organizations. For individuals, offerings include resume crafting, LinkedIn optimization, interview preparation, and salary negotiation. Workshops focus on
personal branding, career development, and confidence-building strategies.
For organizations, services include facilitating HR and DEI workshops, designing programs to enhance workplace inclusivity, and providing training on fostering psychological safety within teams. Examples include developing customized strategies to create psychologically safe environments where employees feel empowered to share ideas, conducting leadership development training to promote inclusive decision-making, and advising on best practices for attracting and retaining diverse talent. Each service is designed to support both professional growth and organizational success while fostering values-driven work cultures.
Sadia Said So is uniquely focused on the intersection of career development and cultural identity, offering insights and advice that respect and incorporate Islamic values and traditions. This includes guidance on maintaining modesty in professional attire and balancing religious commitments with workplace demands.
To cultivate the sisterhood community, we’re hosting two events in December in NY and NJ.
Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
Over the next 5–10 years, SadiaSaidSo is poised to meet the growing demand for community-focused career and organizational development solutions. The professional landscape is shifting toward inclusivity, psychological safety, and meaningful collaboration, and SadiaSaidSo is uniquely positioned to empower Muslim women and organizations to thrive within these changes.
The rise of values-driven workplaces will lead organizations to seek out tailored HR and DEI workshops that prioritize employee engagement, cultural awareness, and inclusivity. SadiaSaidSo’s expertise in crafting actionable strategies to foster these environments will become even more relevant. For individual professionals, the emphasis on personal branding and career agility will continue to grow, and services like resume crafting, interview preparation, and LinkedIn optimization will remain critical.
As the workforce embraces hybrid and remote models, fostering a sense of community will be a challenge—and an opportunity. SadiaSaidSo aims to address this by building a sisterhood in New York and New Jersey, where Muslim women can not only gain new skills but also find support and mentorship. By blending personal coaching with organizational support, SadiaSaidSo will play a vital role in helping women and teams navigate professional challenges while staying rooted in shared values.
