Today we’d like to introduce you to Raven Majazz
Hi Raven, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My journey began in the fall of 2014, to be exact. That’s when I first realized that it was an actual career to make people look better without plastic surgery. Growing up, I remember being fascinated with the idea of people changing their bodies through plastic surgery. I constantly watched shows and followed celebrities to point out the latest differences and sometimes horrific results. At one point, I even had a goal to pursue nursing school to become a nurse anesthetist. From there, the plan was always to work in a plastic surgeon’s office, lol! I indeed pursued nursing, and I also moved out of my hometown of Wilmington, DE, to NYC for school. I wanted to go to the best, and in the Northeast for aesthetics, it was Atelier Esthetique in Manhattan. Along the way, my personal hobbies and goals slowly started to manifest.
In 2015, I worked as a nursing assistant in a Bronx hospital while attending classes for aesthetics on the weekends and at night. Working was the only way I could afford to pay for school. A few weeks into starting school, I quickly found out I was pregnant and suffered from Hyperemesis Gravidarum, along with every other pregnancy symptom you could list. I was unable to work full-time while staying on top of my classes and was forced to drop out, which was one of the toughest things I ever had to do at that time. It was especially hard because I had left my job and apartment to move to NYC solely to finish school, in hopes of landing a job inside a beautiful spa in the city—just doing facials with the best techniques, acupressure, and formulating products. It felt like living a dream, lol—very simple. At that point, I enjoyed the aesthetic field so much that it became a priority over nursing school.
My career as an aesthetician, starting out, was extremely tough. From not having the money to purchase high-end, quality product lines to getting advanced training, there were many challenges. Growing my own book of business and securing consistent appointments was also a huge issue, especially because I wasted a lot of time working for chain spas, where I wasn’t paid unless there was an appointment scheduled. I had no control over that as a recent graduate and didn’t know where to start, so I researched and participated in many advanced trainings. My goal was to create fully customized skincare products and services, tailored to each client’s unique skin type, concerns, and desired results. Overcoming my own skin issues, as well as helping others, has always been my passion. Enhancing someone’s natural beauty felt like a natural extension of that. From expertly shaped eyebrows that frame the face to makeup looks that accentuate natural features, I became overjoyed watching these small transformations make such a huge impact on a person’s confidence and appearance.
I eventually secured a full-time role as a Medical Aesthetician in a Medi-Spa, but in my spare time, besides being a new mom I loved offering free makeovers—what we at ‘Made Aesthetics’ call “MADE-OVER’S.” These experiences not only helped me refine my skills, using wood therapy for body contouring and sculpting, cavitation lipolysis and lymph drainage for fat removal, Electro Muscle Stimulation (EMS) for skin tightening, and RF frequency for enhanced collagen production, but they also allowed me to transform my own body post-childbirth. More importantly, it gave me the opportunity to give back to other men and women seeking to rediscover their inner confidence, just as I did. And that’s how ‘Made Aesthetics’ was born!
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
My journey is layered with experiences that have shaped who I am today. Growing up, I always felt different from many of my family and peers. I’ve always had grandiose dreams and envisioned a luxurious, fairy-tale lifestyle, despite my current surroundings and humble upbringing.
Growing up in a small city with very few spas, becoming a successful aesthetician did not seem practical or realistic when I first started. It was basically untapped territory where I grew up. I’ve always had a natural ability to be the life of the party and a voice of reason for those around me. I’ve always had my own identity, which is sometimes hard to maintain when you’re from such a small community.
At a young age, I realized I had amazing ideas, which led me to launch my first business, *Socially Elite*, in 2017—fashion for socialites. Since then, I’ve expanded without any prior knowledge or assistance. I was able to find fashion manufacturers for all the hottest styles for women and build trusted relationships. I’ve hosted fashion shows, opened a showroom, and sold quality fashion clothing in sizes XS to 3X to women in the tri-state area. I also offered one-on-one outfit consultations for free to anyone who purchased from me, as well as delivery.
During this process, I was still transitioning from my post-baby body, so shape-wear became essential in my wardrobe for a flawless look. I became almost obsessed with ingredients and mixing concoctions to try and lose my belly fat and stretch marks, but nothing seemed to work. I also tried dieting and exercise. I was losing weight but not inches off my body! At the time I didn’t know it but that was just the very beginning of Made Aesthetics compared to where I had started with skin care. I created my own hot cream, similar to the one we sell now, and I would wrap myself in Saran Wrap. It’s kind of funny now but it wasn’t so much then, I went through so many rolls because it kept rolling up on the sides—Ha! Another reason I decided to add another product to the *Made Aesthetics* lineup our signature *Compression Wrap*—it never rolls up when you apply it properly. You can work out, jog, or just lay on the couch and wear it for hours with your waist shaper. That’s how I started seeing my actual physique again. Seeing my own results triggered me to offer similar products and services with my own custom line. I already had experience creating products for facials and mastering protocols, so everything kind of fell into place. Originally, this was never my plan, but I truly feel God has bigger plans than our own, and being here today proves it!
One of the biggest challenges I’ve faced has been self-funding this business as a single mother while in college. All of my ventures have been self-funded, which has made it more difficult to bring all of my ideas to life as quickly as I’d like. However, through faith, hard work, and persistence, I’ve continued to thrive as an entrepreneur. This has, in turn, prompted me to my next phase: completing my business degree with the goal of helping other entrepreneurs navigate their ideas through their business ventures, just as I have.
Since founding *Made Aesthetics* and offering a range of customized products and non-surgical body enhancement services, I’ve been beyond blessed. I can’t wait to see where else this journey takes me. So, to answer your question—*No*, it has not been a smooth road, but I’m continuing to grow through challenges every day that ultimately benefit my businesses at the end of the day .Whether it’s just the lesson learned or finding a new way to overcome obstacles, I do not regret a thing!

Additionally, we can host your private events for spa parties, weddings, birthdays, and more. You can also book hands-on training and learn protocols for different machines.
Do you have any advice for those looking to network or find a mentor?
“Finding a mentor has been somewhat challenging because there aren’t many people that I know personally with experience in my specific industry. However, I’m open to guidance from beauty professionals, salon owners, instructors, various medical professionals, surgeons, and even angel investors, as each brings valuable insights that could help me grow and navigate the unique aspects of the beauty business.”
